Am I correct in assuming the growth in Aussie Dollar is pretty much just down to the demand for Australian minerals from primarily China (and others)?

Having said that I do remember the days not so long ago when the South Pacific Peso was languishing at the bottom of the pile - in hindsight a missed buying opportunity for many, including me, who never really gave it a second thought at the time.

Comm Bank has advised importers that Oz doller will be 1.04 by Decemeber 15. Also Sydney morning Hearld reports same. At Brisbane airport 2 weeks ago i got 31 baht to the OZ doller if i cashed $1000.00 or more at one belt.
