Guys, it's 2007 and HIV is again on the rise not only in the rest of the world, but it's coming back in full force in Thailand. They do expect to have another huge epidemic very soon. Scary stuff.

Being in the business that I am in, we test ALL of our females for HIV and the few ladyboys who have shot (or was going to shoot) bareback. We have had more GGs than LBs come back positive, and each month a few more get added to the list.

If you want my honest opinion, I think there are a few HIV+ guys around who know it and are fucking everyone they can bareback. And lets face it, I have yet to meet a LB who insisted on 100% condom use. You can bareback any one of them if you want, even the superstars, and that is just the cold hard truth.

Treat everyone as if they are HIV+ and you will have nothing to worry about. If you have a condom blow out, take her to the hospital to get tested ASAP. Fuck, pay her 4000b just to go and take the test. If she IS positive, ask for the medicine they can give you (within a 72 hour window) to help fight off the virus.

The meds will make you soi dog sick, but it has a high % rate of fighting off the virus IF you catch it within the 72 hour window. Of course, the longer you wait, the higher risk you have. It's a month worth of meds, 3 different types.

I know someone who had to take this due to a blow out with someone who ended up being HIV+. The meds saved his life.

We all know the risks. Play accordingly.

If he used condoms like he said, and didn't have a blow out, he should not have it unless he had a wound (of any size) outside the protective area and got blood or sperm in it.

Very sage advise: "treat everyone as if HIV +" This advice also applies to LBS; they should treat all punters as if HIV+.

I seem to remember several months ago a board member defending his right to bareback LBs. Well guess what folks this is how the disease in spread around. The ladyboy/punter community is fairly insular and this disease can spread like wildfire if the correct precautions are not taken (I think number one is don't be fucked in the ass).

Anyway, its wheels up for me in about a week; I guess going to tempt fate after reading this thread (a sobering reminder of our mortality).

The way I see it, the only responsible thing to do is for the OP to get on a plane and get his butt to Bkk,  find the girls he had sex with and tell each of them face to face that he is HIV+.

You may have spread the situation yourself,  to the other three who previously did not have HIV.

Sure it's a tough situation, but you have a responsibility. Don't talk about naming names, get on a plane and talk to those names, take another test with them....600 baht for a blood test and you'll know in 15 minutes.....suck it up and do it.....and quit feeling sorry for yourself and try to make a difference in the lives of the four girls.

As someone else on here mentioned, Magic Johnson's been HIV+ for 16 years. Just don't get exposed again - you don't need more HIV strains floating through your system. Be glad you got it identified before it became worse, and now you can get treatments that should let you have a decent life without worry. You haven't got cancer, you haven't got untreatable tumors, you're not blind or at risk of other debilitating illnesses. Get your meds, do the right things from here on out, and you be okay. You're probably more likely to die of a heart attack at this point.

As for naming names, nothing positive would come of it.

First, I want to say my thoughts are with the OP. It is a situation nobody wishes for, and hopefully very few of us (if any) will every experience.

I have however been disgusted by some comments in this thread.

One problem with the internet is the constant spam, trolls and other such things. It can ruin a good forum and annoys a lot of people.

What I have noticed though is how nowadays people are so quick to flame, accuse people of being liars and other such things. These things are equally as damaging as the spam and trolls.

I can only presume that if this person (the OP) was not telling the truth about this, then he would have gone right out and span the story a different way, probably naming the girls. In fact he would not have had to change or get a new member name because that would automatically (perhaps) tell you who the girls were from his previous posts. Of course, there could be a million other reasons, but I see little reason to doubt his testimony, and even less to cast a shadow of doubt  over it or flame.

I would agree with some of the other posters and say get a second, thrid - shit - even a fourth test in different clinics. Find out for absolutely certain then work with the doctors to see what your options are.

I would like to ask the OP how does he think he caught it? Did a condom break, was there something else? Only he knows.

I get tested every 6 months as part of my half yearly medical and so far so good but I have to admit I am no longer so active in the LB scene.

if we had proof a LB has Hiv and is still working then fine- name her, but there is no way of confirming that online (realistically).
the reality is most will go bareback, and plenty of farangs do too.

Galige, I am sincerely, sincerely sorry for your situation. I feel extremely moved by your tragedy. I've sworn off P4P many times before but have always relapsed. I hope your act of honest bravery has convinced me to quit for the final time. Please know that your post has perhaps, as small as the chances may be, saved my life.

I have anxiety problems and have often gone through delusional periods of HIV paranoia, convincing myself that I absolutely must have it (e.g. when getting the flu a few weeks after an encounter), and in my own manic mind have felt the devastation of getting HIV--

feeling it was completely real even though it has only been imagined. For that reason I actually sort of understand how you must feel now.

Please take solace in one fact-- at least you got divorced before playing with lbs. The horror of getting hiv probably cannot compare with the unimaginable terror in suspecting that you passed it to someone else, especially a wife or loved one. I have not been as brave as you-- I am still in a long-term gg relationship although I go P4P with lbs and my greatest fear is not getting the disease but rather giving it to my fiancee.

One thing to clear up to other, suspicious posters-- I definately don't think Galige is some homophobic spammer-- his original post used the terminology of the scene, i.e. lbs and ggs. He even knew to refer to Stogie Bear as SB. Unless he were a particularly clever anti-non-hetero spammer, which I think is an oxymoron, he wouldn't have learned our terminology. He probably would have said 'shemale' and 'real girl' or something like that.

That's beside the point. Galige, I will pray for you tonight and please do not think you are alone.
