  • Jesus Camp - Anyone seen it yet?

A new documentary on the indoctrination of American Kids to become evangelkical christian soldiers.

getting some press here in UK.

    Any thoughts:

The three featured children, despite their youth, are very devout charismatic Christians. Levi, who has ambitions of being a pastor, has already preached several sermons at his father's church, Rock of Ages Worship Center in St. Robert, Missouri. He is homeschooled (as are many of the campers), and learns physical science from a textbook that teaches Young Earth Creationism. He is also taught that global warming is a non-issue. At the camp, he preaches a sermon in which he declares that his generation is key to Jesus's coming back. Rachael, who also attends Levi's church (her father is assistant pastor), is seen praying over a bowling ball early in the film, and frequently passes Christian tracts (including some by Jack Chick) to people she meets. She doesn't think very highly of non-charismatic churches (or "dead churches," as she calls them), feeling they are not "churches that God likes to go to." Tory is a member of the children's praise dance team at Christ Triumphant Church. She frequently dances to Christian heavy metal music, and feels uncomfortable about "dancing for the flesh." She also does not think very highly of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.

Make sure they aren't exposed to any conflicting or rational ideas and get a proper brain washing.

Sounds irritatingly interesting KL. It's on torrentspy so I might DL it. Thanks
I don't get it, is this a magic show?

"The Bible and Sword be the arm of the Lord...."

The fact is that as fundementalist Islam increases so do the nuts on the other side of the fence as the same rate. maybe the neo cons have a point when they say we will call it " Eurabia" in 20 years time....

There will be a civil war in Europe. There is no doubt about it.... its coming....maybe we need the Christian loonies to do battle with the ragsheads. One day you will have to take sides and i wont be behind the ragheads thats for sure.

Im already buying tinned food and powderd milk.

PS; the problem is in Europe we aint got any Christian loonies , there all in Uncle Sam.

It is clearly a case of child abuse. The parents should be put in jail and the kids raised by rational adults.
One time the late Frank Zappa was asked about how he mangaged to raise a couple of decent creative kids. He said. "I kept them as far away from oganized religion as possible".
I think organized religion should be regulated and fined when ever they spout untruths, and or get involved in or mention politics. Also any politition who claims or is a member of a religion should be removed from office. Anyone under the age of 21 should be prohibitied from entering a church. Religious expression or symbols outside a church would be subject to a fine. All religions would required to sumbit an outline of their beliefs to be reviewed and if found to contain untruths they would be prohibited from getting a permit to opperate. All churchs and religions would be taxed at a rate comperable to any other business.

You, my friend, are a very very wise man.
By the way the average IQ of non believers is significantly higher than God freaks. That's a fact.

But thats the nub of the problem, what is the truth, no one actually can say " i know"..

Most Scientists would say there is no local evidence for God and i agree with that but go back to the supposed BigBang around 14.5 Billion years ago where Science and the laws of Physics break down and its still open.

Look at the young people who actually go to church in the UK , they all are the children of christian families and have been forced into religion from an early age , imagine the hassle a young kid would get from a religious family if they refused to go to church .

In my city Saturday afternoon brings out all the religious maniacs on soap boxes and megaphones screaming about going to hell , and at times being downright offensive
Imagine if an ordinary guy like me decided to get a megaphone and say that anyone who I percieved as doing wrong was gonna have to suffer in a burning fire for ever , Id be arrested and charged in five mins .
Free your mind and your ass will follow .

This is exactly why the law and social services should be protecting innocent children from this cancer.

This whole religous thing is incredible to me - how does a rational person distinguish between the fundamental religous beliefs of these maniacs and the harmless ( I think) idiocy of people who believe in UFOs.

Both belief systems have about as much impirical evidence as the other and yet one is allowed to fester away poisoning kids minds in a way that would make the average political rainwashing look mild by comparison.

Until we actually break away from this the prospect of returning to a Dark Age is very real - as Richard Dawkins says the only thing that stops us advancing is the desire to go back.

The current Economist ( or last weeks maybe) magazine has a big report on religeon.

China is the fasted growing Christian Country. Read the report and you will cry your eyes out , its pretty bleak.
Whether you agree with the Economist editorial or not these guys are usually pretty thorough and straight talking with no bullshit.

It is not on the wane thats for sure and expanding very fast on a worldly scale. Karl Marx must be rolling in his Highgate grave
