Hi guys...
it's come up in a few forum of how to store your files discretely on the PC so that no prying eyes can find them
Yesterday i found a free solution
It allows you to create a file (call it whatever u like) that is fully encrypted and passpord protected. (you determine the size ... i set mine at 10GB)
The file is really like another hard disk.
Once the "file" is established and formatted it can only be seen by mounting the file using the supplied program and then the file acts just like any other hard drive. (i tend mount the file on virtual P drive)
You can view all your stuff, delete, add etc etc and shows up under my computer etc
After you finish, you simply unmount the "drive" and drive becomes encrypted as a file and protected.
i.e. the program stores the "hard drive" as a file, fully encrypted and can only be viewed after password access and using a special mounting program.
As a stand alone "file" its unreadable i believe.
Seem perfect to me: no more prying eyes
If you are interested download it from here
http://www.truecrypt.org/downloads.php
AND you MUST follow the setup instructions & guide to create the "file" but once you have set it up its basic and very secure and no one will ever know what the heck you are up to.
Give it a try...
you will be impressed - i know i am
And best part is its FREE!!
