    Any ex-OinK members here?

I am feeling displaced and in need of an invite to a decent private tracker.
Was a PU+ for over 2 years over at OinK.

A mainly music bittorrent site. The cops shut it down last month.

Several 'piglets' have since been spawned to replace it.

Never used it but it sounded like a pretty good system for trading music.
Problem with torrent spy etc.. is the selection is limited .

Considering you need an invite for the really good sites, makes it harder to get access to them.
if i hear of anyfink ..will post here..

If you are just after music I find Soulseek to be one of the best for downloading.
Loads of muso types there with tons of rare stuff as well as contemporary releases.

You just download the program, make sure you are sharing a folder (so users can download from you) and you're in business.
You'll find all the info at the website just google soulseek.

I more pissed off at demonoid being taken down.

With all the crap that can come with P2P I'm surprised people still use these sites, plus, and I know a few BMs are gonna hate me for saying this, but, it just ain't right imo. Yeah, I know, the music industry earns gazzilion$ but it doesn't make it right.

SB, you seem to be into these things, how would it rate with you if one person signed up to ATS, downloaded every pic and then gave them away for free?

            just my 2 cents...

We do what we can to control our product. The internet is a leaky place and I've had my fair share of naughty free stuff so I can't complain.

From a business standpoint it's frustrating because I believe we charge a more than fair price for our product. Also our product is available to any adult willing to pay.

However - we have a good business and we take care of our members who stick around so we can't complain too much.

My beef is really that movies are about 20 bucks a piece when they should be about 2 or 3 bucks. Music CDs should sell for about the same and not have these DRM restrictions dampening the product. My biggest beef is that the stuff I want isn't available to buy so I download it for free and screw them for not making the stuff I want commercially available.

The problem with the media empires is that they regard the public as the enemy NOT the clients. The other issue I have is that governments are working with these companies to lock up people who wear fake jeans or handbags etc...

It's crazy that an elected beaurocracy like government would spend it's time in the pockets of big business. (Well - it's crazy that we allow it to happen!)

I bet this turns into an interesting thread!

Well, if it makes you feel any better Brad Pitt 'only' earned US$35m as opposed to Johnny Depp's US$92m last year.

I like the "99$ VIP Deal" from ATS....is more as fair a snip...

Me not into...  , but when I search with Emule, I will find only videos and pic collections from websites who take 29,95 or 39,95 per month...
and that latest 1 day after published on there sites.
Videos which are locked with DRM are cracked ....

                      agree with SB 100%

IMHO piracy serves a very very valuable public service~
before i go on.. i must admit to receiving one copyright infringement notice from paramount pictures~~

Basically...we western folk are getting royally screwed by music and motion pictures empires that basically say well you are a western person earning some good $$$, screw you - you can pay 10 times a reasonable price just because we know you can afford it.

Piracy helps keep price down... they know now if they charge a reasonable level, people will purchase the product, if price gets too steep... the consumer will just download the free copy and say fuck them!

Remember when it comes to a movie or music the copyright owner has a virtual monopoly on the goods... Giving them ultimate pricing power!

Piracy breaks the monopolistic nature of their businesses and allows us average consumers not to get royally fucked over

Cant see that being all that wrong. Can you?
