My name is Alan and while I went to a regular university and graduated many years ago, I have always loved food. A few years ago I had a chance to get a degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts from California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, hence the name alan1chef.

SF1B4. Several meanings.
Special Forces one before.
I had the misfortune (due to injuries) of having spent 10 of my 17 SF years working BN S1 (admin) - thus the SF1B.
B4 is a Special Qualification Identifier I held on my occupational specialty. B4 = Sniper (old and don't see as good as I once did -- now use shotguns and handguns).
And contrary to popular belief SF does not stand for San Francisco (I have been asked that a lot).

As many people who know me, Mardhi was was the surname of a girl in Indonesia who picked ME up one night - the rest is history other than the fact that we never left the room for 48 hours and I have never seen or heard of her since. That is one GG who broke my heart, not to mention, she was by Jakarta standards very well off - I hope she is doing good - but thats the first and only only GG in Asia to get so under my skin. To say she was good enough to die for is an understatement.
So thats why I keep calling myself Mardhi
Cheers
Mardhi

(strocube @ Dec. 14 2007,09:59) Well, since you asked... strocube is the first three letters of stropharia and the first three letters of cubensis put together, stropharia cubensis, aka, magic mushrooms.
I was a huge fan of Terence Mckenna, (RIP) and I believe he mentioned the the name strocube in one of his talks, or possibly in a book.
I meant the first four letters of stropharia and the first four letters of cubensis put together, stropharia cubensis, aka, magic mushrooms.
That is all."Bankin' off of the northeast wind
Salin' on a summer breeze
And skippin' over the ocean, like a stone."

(Monkey @ Dec. 13 2007,20:21) I like monkeys!
I like Monkey in The Water Margin (precursor to Monkey (was Tripitaka a boy or girl in real life? I fancied 'him' when I was a kid, and insisted she was a girl, kinda made my friends worry a little lol)),
Natsume Masako, December 17, 1957 - September 11, 1985) was a Japanese actress from Tokyo.
She played the part of "Tripitaka" (Sanzō-hōshi, Japanese translation of Sanzang-fashi) in the 1970s Japanese TV program Saiyūki which proved amazingly popular in many English-speaking countries in the 1980s when dubbed by the BBC and titled Monkey.
She died from acute leukemia at the age of 27.
Oh, and The Water Margin was a different series altogether. (Memory going? )
