A week holiday in Cha-am Beach and side trip to Hua Hin

So I decided to take my Girlfriend to the beach for a week and we originally planned to be closer to Hua Hin.
However we ended up on a quiet part of Cha-am beach in a small but new one bedroom condo on the beach.
We were quite a walk from the actual town of Cha-am Beach just a couple restaurants and 7-11 nearby.

The complex was the LPN Cha-Am and it was a great place with a beautiful pool. We spent much time by this pool.
I have lots of good pictures from our trip starting with the condo and pool. You can see the beach view from out small apartment.
Also the beautiful configuration of the pool and my GF.
There isn't too much raucous ladyboy activity on this trip, you will have to settle for a few pics of Layla.

The first day we used the bicycles the resort had to ride to the temple and pray then we went to eat.
After we just went to the beach right in front of our condo for some Leos and food. image_80807.jpg

Great report Crag, and Layla is looking fine as always! Sounds like you made another trip to LOS! Must be nice! Also good information on Air BnB in Thailand - doesn't sound like it is a good option for now.

Yes Layla always looking good on the beach. Spent 3 weeks in LOS and 1 week here at Cha-am. The temperatures were 43C several days.

Got a nice condo for our purposes but I guess was assuming Cha-am was closer to Hua Hin.
AirBNB is like a lot of services these days, you have to choose the users with the most reviews so you know they are active and honest.

Got lots of pics so I thought I would post. Noticed that you can insert both attachments and picture galleries to a post.
Playing around with that! Possibly can post dozens of pics this way.

The next day we decided to rent a motorbike through the resort for 2 days at 350 baht per day.
We went further down the beach this time and ate and drank leo in our beach chair plus doing some swimming.
As you can see the beach is quite a bit busier than the beach in front of our condo about 1km down.

Also we went on the inflatable chair for 2 that gets towed behind a jet ski.

The next day we decided to go to the beach nearest to the Town of Cha-am Beach.
Turns out it is the nicest part and is much wider with no rocks and better choices of seating.
Turns out everything is cheaper here than the more remote parts of the beach.
May get very busy on weekends but today it wasn't too bad.
We had fun at the beach and more leos and thai food.

Somehow i got talked into riding one of the inflatable bananas behind the jetski.
The inflatable chair was bad enough but the banana is not recommended.
If you are heavy, tall or have long limbs it is almost impossible to stay on.
Never again.

We decided to get a better motorbike than the one we rented from the resort. In town we found a brand new much larger motorbike for 400 baht per day.
Then we wanted to go over to Hua Hin and the smaller bike could not do it. So off we go down the freeway on our motorbike to Hua Hin taking about 25 minutes.

Once there we found a way down to the beach and parked at some chairs right in front of the Hilton Hotel.
It was nicer and more scenic here than Cha-am but also busier and many more sharp rocks to watch out for.
We hung out there for many hours and ate and drank Leo. I liked how they had the menus right in the sand.
Our food was Tom Yum Goong and Pad Thai Gai. It was another nice day at the beach.

After we went to the mall for a bit and I was amazed at the number of motorbikes parked there.
Then we took off back to our condo at Cha-am.

What a fun place. More crowds, better beaches, lots of green trees, cleaner water, lots of food, hot date, excellent camera, luckiest guy in LOS. Are there a lot of LB bars there? That Hilton looks like the one in Hua Hin. Can't find any info about a Hilton in Cha-Am.

That is the Hilton in Hua Hin.
As I said, we took the motorbike from Cha-am to Hua Hin for a day at the beach.
A 30 minute drive.
Cha-am beaches are generally deserted.

There is no ladyboy bars or lady bars really in Cha-am.
Also I don't think there is specifically any ladyboy bar in Hua Hin.
Cha-am has bars and restaurants and you can find ladies and ladyboys around.
Still best just to take your own date here or Hua Hin.

There is not really any major hotels in Cha-am except on the north side there is a sick looking 5 star Sofitel Resort Hua Hin.
Funny the hotel is called Hua Hin Sofitel as it is 35 minute drive to Hua Hin, we were closer.
This hotel seems to be ladyboy friendly as can be seen by the picture on their homepage.

We went to check out the night market in Cha-am and it was quite large and busy.
It is right by the train station which makes me think of trying the train to get there next time.
You can rent a motorbike right close to the station.

Well I always get my GF to rent stuff so she shows them her passport.
This way I don't get the falang treatment when i return the bike.
If possible I send only her to get stuff since if they see me they may charge more.
They never asked for a drivers license as I don't think she has one.
I suspect a majority of people on motorbikes in Thailand have no drivers license.

I rented a car in Buriram once and they just took a photo copy of my drivers license.
Didn't ask for passport or anything.
Of course it wasn't Hertz or Avis either.

Cha-am seems friendly, cheap and down to earth so there didn't seem many out to scam you.
Just a quiet beach town which seems popular with Thai families, which is probably why there is few major hotels.
