They always pick the ladyboy just like they pick the GG for Miss Thailand.  They always go by the Asian version of beauty with pasty white skin, nose job, and older.    I would have put 5 girls ahead of the top 3 but they had just enough skin color to probably disqualify them or were too young.

Who decides who is the winner by the way and how many Thais are present outside of the girls working and contestants?

And this is the reason Miss Thailand always looks so deficient during the Miss Universe pageant and doesnt win. Japan finally got the hint and hired a Western consultant and now you see real stunners representing Japan and have won last time and second place the year before.

Great photos. I was with Oil(no 26) once and she has excellent personality too. Friendly and no BS, good BBBJ too She's a real honey. Haven't tried the winner and other contestants yet. That will be one of my New Year's resolution "Do all the final 11s"

Brocklanders - most of the audience were Thai with a few farang attendees. Generally supporters/friends of the contestants I think. I didn't see the judges, but Dieter's photos suggest they were Thai, and possibly 3 judges. As for winning world wide beauty contests - I think you may have a point, but doubtful this will ever happen for a worldwide lb contest on the scale of Miss Universe/Miss World.

Dieter - you take great photos too! I see you were up close to the action, I was in the upper left seats, with my companions for the evening. I used a Minolta 70-210 F4 zoom (beercan) for the closeups. Pretty happy with it, but it flares sometimes since it isn't optimally coated for dSLRs.

I have a few more misc. photos I will post later.

With all the different favorites it just goes to show we all have different tastes - which is great! Someone for everyone!

My favorite not started at the contest......

Really me love my analog Minolta 9 SLR, handmade,steel and magnesium around 1400 gram and make up to10 photos per second....who can beat this? The 2.8 80 -200 have a weight from around 1800 gram. You don't need any camera shake protection...
Perfect work with all kind of flashes ....because of the TTL control..
And I love the sound when the shutter go up.....sounds not like plastic
