New Camera

I just picked up a new camera last week, the Sony DSC-T100
The reason I got this specific model is it will go up to ISO 3200 and has a built in noise reduction chip.

For those who aren't camera buffs, that means it will take pictures with very very little light.

This is an image I took in Obsession last night, with no flash. I did a little editing in photoshop to reduce noise and change the color balance (too much red).

I think its a good photo, for a dark bar with NO FLASH.

Obviously having good light and a flash would be better !!!

Good pics Snick, considering you did not use flash. Very few digital cameras can use high ISO and produce good photos.

There is a program that has been rated one of the best at reducing noise from high ISO shots - Noise Ninja. It has a free trial but watermarks the processed photos.

My Konica-Minolta digital SLR can produce really nice shots at ISO 3200, but it is too conspicuous to bring into a bar.

I have read the Fuji digital cams have very low noise at high ISOs.

By the way, I read about a really good tip on a focus aid in low light. Use a laser pointer (with red beam) and slighty unscrew the cap with the lens so the beam is more diffuse. Should improve the amount of in focus "keepers" in low light situations.

Nice little camera Snick and probably as good as your going to get image wise without a FLASH in a place like Obsessions .

Very interesting little tip RX , will have to keep that in mind , i could use something like that next time i do some shots at Guess Bar , thank you

I use noiseware pro ( someone else on forum suggested it )
but I think I have a copy of Noise Ninja too, I'll try it tomorrow

The sony has a built in autofocus LED, which is the similar to your laser pointer but a bit more conspicuous - I turned it off to take these pics.
