I was at Obsessions just the other night, and it didn't rate much higher than KC3 in my opinion.

I'm sorry, but pushy, Amazon drama-queens just set me right off my mood.

I come in looking for action, and I get HASSLED from the minute I walk in the door, and I end up leaving in disgust without anybody.

If these places would just learn that some customers ENJOY aggressive sales pitches and others DON'T, I'd be much happier.

Just because I don't enjoy the aggressive pitch, doesn't mean I deserve to be repeatedly tapped on the back of my head (KC3), or stared at threateningly by an angry, bitchy cocktail waitress (Obsessions).

Anyway, my Obsessions encounter was almost as short as my KC3 encounter, except that Odet intervened and saved the day (briefly).

I walk in, get the usual train of agressive harpies following me in, bleh.... Unfortunately, I still had a beer in hand from Temptations (was finishing it off while walking around).

Now I KNOW I gotta order a drink when I walk into a place, but I also don't see any reason for them to be completely f'ing RUDE about it.

A simple, "Excuse me sir, but we have a one-drink minimum", would pretty much cover it, and get the job done without the drama. But then what would ladyboys be without DRAMA?

Anyway, I sit down and the waitress comes up to take my order. I tell her, "OK, give me 5 minutes to finish this off and I'll order another." She could have said, "No, you need to order something now", or whatever, but instead she calls over some bitchy Amazon, and they proceed to insult me and demand that I leave immediately.

Geesh. It's not like I was even making a big deal out of it, I just said that one sentence and got treated to a boatload of abuse. For what? Anyway, fortunately Odet was there and she intervened on my behalf. Truly, she is a real sweetheart and I'd recommend her to anyone.

I've never been with her (she's not my type), but she definitely seems like the kind of girl you could be friends with. In fact, I told her point blank, "You're not my type", and she wasn't the least bit offended (and why should she be? She's definitely HOT). Instead she asked me for my preferences, and helped me find a few girls who matched what I was looking for (short, petite, nice body, likes to f'ck guys in the ass).

The Amazon and the waitress retreat a bit (but still give me plenty of evil looks).

Oh, so how does all of this relate to Anna? Because she was one of the two girls Odet invited over to chat with me.

So there I am, sandwiched between Anna and this other cutie (can't remember her name, but she's new, #17). I'm thinking, "ah, what the hell, I'll take both".

But I can't get that sorted out. And why?

Because even though I had two girls already, aggressive Amazons kept coming over and "introducing themselves" (it was a slow night), the cocktail waitress stood there and demanded that I IMMEDIATELY buy them lady drinks (before they'd even sat down and introduced themselves), and Anna kept pushing me to pay the bar fine.

It just all added up to "T.M.P": Too Much Pressure.

F'ck, I mean I went in to the place looking to unwind after a hard day, and hook up some action, and all I got was hassle. And not for being a "cheap charlie" (although, that's what they called me), but simply because I wanted to GO SLOWER than they wanted.

That was my crime.

I was buying drinks and chatting up the girls just fine, but because I didn't hussle off to a short-time room before I'd even finished my beer, I'm some sort of big a'hole.

F'ck.

The new girl was definitely cute and willing to be laid back, so I appreciated her approach I was willing to put up with the hassle for the chance to get with her, but in the end it all added up to just too much.

Anna was actually the one who put the straw that broke the camel's back. Not really her fault (her English is not so good), but that's the way it turned out.

What happened was that pretty much all Anna said from the moment she sat down was "You pay bar 600 baht, we go short-time 300 baht, OK?" Maybe it was the only thing she COULD say, but I'm pretty sure I made it clear to her that I wanted to finish my beer first.

I'm sitting there trying to work out the details of a threesome (who's willing to f'ck who and how, etc...), because I don't want to get them back to the hotel and find out they can't perform (the new girl said she didn't like to f'ck, but Anna said she would), but I can't get a word in edgewise because Anna keeps pushing the barfine on me.

I keep telling her, "Hey, Jai Yen Karb" and "Chaw, chaw, Karb" and "Gin Beer, Karb", but all I get back is "You pay barfine, OK?". It as if she was completely stymied by the idea that I didn't want to race up to the short-time room as fast a possible.

So finally, while I'm talking to the new girl (just chatting casually about where she is from, etc..), Anna takes the initiative to call the manager over there so I can pay the F'CKING barfine.

F'ing A', I'm in the middle of a nice conversation, the cocktail waitress has left me alone (for the moment), I've got a half-empty beer in front of me, and she has to go push me out the f'ing door like that....

What does a guy have to do to make it absolutely stone-cold clear that he WILL take someone home if they just LEAVE HIM ALONE long enough to pick a girl he likes at his leisure??

The pushy sales tactics may work on the n00bies and toursits, but some of use actually live and work in this craphole, and after a long day of fighting traffic and listening to Thai co-workers make asinine suggestions and gossip about everybody, it'd be really nice to be able to walk in, settle back for a beer or two and enjoy the show, and then if someone strikes your fancy, you pay her fine and go getting a nice hard pounding up your pie hole.

Is that too much to ask?

Apparently, it is.

So, anyway, I said, "You know what? You've killed my buzz. I'm going home. ALONE. I was about to bar fine you both and have a great time, but yah just pushed to hard. "

Damn shame too. I really wanted Anna to give me a good f'ck. She's a little hottie and I'd really enjoy looking in a mirror to see her kneeling behind me giving me a good ride. I may even go back there and put up with the sh't again just to have her.

But I think next time I'll just go on a day when I am in a mood to run up to the short-time room for a quickie shag. Because apparently, that's the ONLY kind of customer they want. Everyone else is flat-out unwelcome.

BTW, I went to Cascades and Temptations that night. Temptations was definitely more low-key, and I liked that. The girls hung back after I let them know I wanted time, and I got a chance to check out the seen (unfortunately, there weren't many of the petites that I favor). Cascades was pretty decent, after the intial scum at the door, and they didn't even hassle me about coming in with a drink. But again, I'm not into Amazons or posties, and so there was nothing in my flavor there either.

So too bad about Obsessions. I'd LIKE to go there more often, but I guess I'm just past that stage where I need to get f'cked so bad that I'm willing to put up with crappy atmosphere and sh'tty, rude service to get a shag.

I prefer to treat the girls like PEOPLE, and I guess I'd like it if they did the same to me. It's not like it's all that hard to be nice to people now and then....

Still Kudos to Odet and #17. Odet's a real class act, and the new girl was nice enough (or perhaps not jaded enough) to recognize my mood and adjust her approach accordingly.

Too bad more girls can't be like that. Wouldn't it be nice to walk into a place, sit down, have a few beers and leisurely lay your eyes on each girl before selecting the one you want like she's a fine wine to be savored, not slurped.

The unfortunate reality is that you walk in, get mobbed, and the every girl in that mob takes it as a personal affront if you don't pick her IMMEDIATELY, don't buy a lady drink IMMEDIATELY, and don't pay the barfine IMMEDIATELY.

You would think they would realize the lack of business it causes, but on most counts, things will probably never change. Sometimes I wonder is the Mamasan there to run a business and make some baht, or just babysit and keep the place from blowing up? I don't think pointing a loaded handgun could halt the charge in some of these places. Reminds me of the very first time I went into my very first Nana bar... Casanova... I opened the door...saw the onslaught coming, and just as quickly closed it. This was before I heard of A-TS and it's ever friendly support group.

Yeah, it was a long-winded rant, but I vented, so now I feel all purged and tingle-ly, and that's a good thing...

It's not the initial bum-rush that bothers me so much, that I could handle (through I'd rather not).

It's when you politely refuse their company and they get all bitchy and dramatic about it. And it's also that fact that I will repeatedly state the mood I'm in and the type of experienced I'd like to ENJOY in their bar, and they don't adjust their pitch at all. They've got one way of doing things, and if you're not with their program, "f'k off!"

If they want to require a bar-fine from everybody who walk in, they should just put a cover-charge on the door and be done with it. But if I want to walk in, order a beer, and sit in a dark corner by myself or just enjoy the show, or have a nice, pleasant chat-up with a girl, that should be my choice.

But apparently, there's only one kind of customer desired at these places: the in-a-hurry-to-get-laid punter straight of the airplane and with a wad of cash burning through his fat wallet.

It's a pointless rant, I know. I complain a blue streak and nothing will change, but at least I get it off my chest.

I just can't understand how a place that caters to the carnal needs of men, can't understand that if you take care of the WHOLE man, you'll have more business.

For me, sex with ladyboys is a nice way to de-stress. I get a good pounding from a cute little hottie and I feel GOOD . But running that guantlet and then having them get all catty and nasty if I don't toe THEIR line, just puts me off my mood.

Glad you tell it like is really is on the ground, but I think some nights are better than others. I too have fled these shit holes alone only because of the shit and carry-on.
