Generally around 1000 Baht ST in Chiang Mai will suffice, although I think I may have parted with 1500 Baht for Daisy.
Didn't take anybody LT in Chiang Mai, but I'm sure you could do the maths based on the average ST rates.

Chiang Mai is certainly cheaper than Phuket, Bangkok & Pattaya in terms of cost of living.

The Simon Cabaret LB's may not be keen on an LT as they have a pretty tight training schedule, but if you are a "hansum man"..... who knows your luck might be in.

ALL, the LB's were nice even tho's working the street seemed to be alot less pushy than the "beach road" crew & the ones that made it to my room treated me very well. ( & hopefully I them ). I appreciate the cabaret LB's have a busy schedule, but they did not rush in my room. They are a bit "white" up in Chiang Mai, but that does not detract from there overal beauty.

It was also a pleasure to be in Chiang Mai, climate people & the quietness compared to Pattaya, Phuket, & Bangkok. Anyone seeking an alternative to the usual suspects might enjoy Chiang Mai.

okay you convinced me. chiang mai it is! screw the pi at least for one more trip.

next up, i'll SEARCH 'chiang mai' on the forum, but to start me off: where do you stay when there?
i'd love to get a 4star room within walking distance of the action (like so many around Nana Plaza) for about 2000 thb/night off-season (in May), lb friendly, no joiner fee....

I stayed at the PornPing Hotel, its within walking distance of the action, if you don't mind 15-20minute walks, it also has the Bubbles disco in its realestate. I booked on a double basis to try & avoid a joiners fee. This worked but they weren't overly happy. No real problems though, in all other respects it was OK. Its not 4 star but a good 3, I had no complaints.

The "action" in Chiang Mai is a bit spread out, so you could argue that you will have to walk where ever you stay.

I also stayed at Pornping Towers last trip, and had no trouble with the LB's I brought back to keep me company.

Previously I have stayed at the Suriwongse Hotel & Duangtawan Hotel. These 2 hotels are right in the middle of all the action, and a short walk to the Marina Ladyboy Bar. (both these places similar standard of accommodation to Pornping Towers, 3 stars, but adequate)
If you want something a little better, also nearby is the Royal Princess hotel.

The nicest place I've stayed at is The Empress Hotel.

Finally, the Novotel Hotel is situated next door to the Simon Cabaret Complex, but it's a long way from anything else of interest.

i hear the time to approach the simon talent is during the meet-and-greet after the show. i can imagine the occasional geriatric tour group stops by, so without being TOO conspicuous, how might one

A) ask for the company of one or more ladyboys for a few hours? and

B) subtely ask if one has the full package south of the border? I have heard giving the snip-snip gesture works in the bars, but...

also, if a gal agrees for ST, will she drop everything and go back with one, or come later...

finally, will the pornping object to two guests coming up together, or do they not bother with the math.
