    Kelly is really hot.
I remember when she came out and made a big splash.
She started a site and was the toast of the town.
Years ago there was a distinct shortage of hot white tgirls also.
She then abruptly retired at her peak, really.

She is right there isn't as much money for working for the porn studios.
DVD sales are down and Pay per view just isn't as lucrative.
They also have websites now but they must produce alot more for the same amount of money.

The ladyboy porn gold rush of the 2000's has tailed off with only a few of the sites carrying on now.
Solo sites are proving to be entirely unprofitable and you are seeing alot close or become stagnant.

It truly is Tgirls marketing themselves more these days.
Working with their BF or preferred guy is better than getting set up with some porn stud.
When I made alot of porn I usually tried to get the girls to bring a guy, cause it worked better that way.

Most of what she says is right on.

I've seen a couple of her Youtube videos before, and she comes across as intelligent and insightful. I've also seen some of her posts on HA, and she is definitely good at marketing herself.

I find it interesting you agree with many of her comments, and that the lb porn industry is on the decline. Do you think that piracy has contributed to it? Contrary to discussion on some other forums, it's always been a niche area, and I don't think it will ever expand to the point of being as popular as regular porn.

I wouldn't say the TS porn industry is in decline per se, it is just changing and there is less major players.
10 or more years ago there just wasn't alot of marketable Ladyboys in North America, so the Asian ladyboy sites really took off to fill the void. Now most of the Ladyboy sites have tailed off with just a handful remaining.
One company, Grooby, is a huge presence in the business but they too are closing or consolidating sites. The high price for individual sites is starting to wear out and more sites are lowering the prices or putting many sites into one network.
Grooby is trying to make the TS business similar the straight porn industry by having an awards show and such, however this is really a throw back to the old days. Plus these type of awards are less inclusive as not everyone who produces is involved with a major studio.

Moving ahead the traditional porn studios model is falling apart, some new technology is needed to help them create a new future. Traditionally porn is where great advances in media technology takes place, because they need to innovate to stay alive. New things like interacting with the porn stars through your computer and other interesting ideas are coming to light. They still haven't figured out how to protect digital assets properly.

Back when there was less TS around one girl could make good pay doing porn, up to $5000 and up.
As more girls came on the scene the market got more saturated and pay went down.
Also producers just have to produce more than they used to just to fill the same void. Consumers need more and better porn than they used to and there is a lot of competition between sites of who updates more.
So over all they are producing more porn for less profits, and the girls make less.

Being a full time shemale porn star really isn't an option anymore. If you are popular you can make decent money, but probably not a good living. They would then have to supplement with web cam, escorting or other similar activities.
For Kelly it works good because she can make some money at home while still being a house wife.

Piracy and just the pure amount of free content has contributed to this. But as i say consumers these days have much bigger appetites and need fresh meat more often, but are not necessarily willing to pay more. Many steal porn but those that pay for porn will always pay. If nobody pays there would be no more new porn, many recognize this. Also it is far easier to meet a shemale in real life than it used to be. For example in Canada 15 years ago there was maybe 10 TS in all of the country working as escorts. Now there is nearly 1000 shemales competing for your $$.

Solo tgirls just don't usually have a big enough followings for solo sites and many have found the work is not worth the profits they get. So they are turning to promoting themselves through webcam and modelling for various sites. Ultimately they can make a good living by diversifying. Still the days when a mediocre looking TS can make a great living is over, 10 years ago any white TS could make a good $. Back when there were only a few big stars, those girls made good cash. Kimber James, Bailey Jay and Vaniity are all good examples of superstar shemales. You probably won't see stand out stars like this anymore as the competition is great and no one puts all their eggs in just one models basket anymore.

So I think the studios working as a middle man in porn is becoming less. Girls are promoting themselves and working alone more now, even though it is not on solo sites. They can also meet customers and suitors easier on social media and such, then they can provide private cam shows and private content to individual admirers. So the business is becoming more independent because of this. Also sites are providing free content and selling advertising rather than charge users.

The whole porn industry is trying to survive and TS are part of the new reality.
Everyone made huge money on the internet in the 2000's mostly due to less pirating and not having video.
Pictures were not as easy to steal and manage, while videos are very expensive to make and can be stolen in a heartbeat.

It may be a considered niche market but it is actually larger than that. I would say it is really part of the big 3 porn genres.
        Straight, Gay, Shemale.
