I cant rememember the year but Whoopie Goldberg was MC'ing the Oscars and referred to that dreadful film 'Showgirls' saying 'it was the worst abuse of Poles since the 2nd World War'...somehow Marla you have Rehabilitated the Poles, the way your legs wrap around and seem almost to caress the stem with intense pressure before letting go and sliding to the ground. usually I have seen girls attacking the pole and twirling round but this was more like a sensuous embrace...all you need to do know is work out how to fit the pole into your next video installation together with a menu, a Buddhist chant, and a poem by Lorca...

That video was really one of the first few times I managed to get the move. It was really hard for me to perform that move initially because I found difficulty trying to clamp on the pole...And yes, there is some adjustments to be made and I do feel queasy often!  

I've always been a multi-disciplinary artist. And I'm sure the poledancing will come in handy one day. I wanted to hold my first solo multimedia concert last year but I was too occupied. A 'Bjork' evening with my classical/live sound art arrangements and compositions and my multimedia art- complete with fantastic outfits and mile-long legs. How indulgent  

I did a poledance gig at the Hilton's today.
This is my get-up. It caused quite a stir in town tho~

I wore a frilly skirt identical to my instructor who's a midget compared to me! It was such a funny sight on stage.
