We played poker at a friend's and they had this HUGE husky! She looks pretty regular-sized here but she looks WAAAAY much bigger, I ensure you! She is however, a gentle giant though
(alram @ Jun. 12 2009,18:08) Yup, the Cubs have always been my team. But White Sox tickets are immensely cheaper than Cubs tickets! We got two good tickets, two hot dog meals, and two t-shirts for 60 dollars. Our Cubs tickets cost nearly 80 dollars alone.
Still not bad BH, I take My niece to watch a football match in London & your looking at $190 just for the tickets
(alram @ Jun. 11 2009,20:15) Zack and I went to the Detroit Tigers VS Chicago White Sox game
The white sox suck, go Cubs
Seamus, I didn't peg you to be a Cubs fan or even a baseball fan.
Usually those living in Chicago have to commit to one or the other. Your not really allowed to like both, however I usually go against the grain and like both. North siders are asscociated as cub fans while the more blue collar South siders are usually Sox fans. Great to see you taking Marla out to Cubs and Sox games. I appluad your efforts Zack, and if she enjoys the experience then you really should spring for Windy City Classic series coming up. Even if its at the Cell over the weekend, the atomosphere is like no other game. It doesn't matter where either team is in the standings when they go against each other in interleague play.
Its funny how Sox fans hate cubs fans and Cubs fans don't care about Sox fans. They are a non-factor.
Poor Cubbies struggling even withthat huge payroll.

I'm actually a born south-sider and a Cubs fan, which irritates most of my friends. When I put up a message about going to Comiskey last week, I had 5 of my friends telling me "Go Sox!" and such. I'm from 93rd and Elizabeth, so only a few miles from the Dan Ryan red line station, which is only like 2 stops from Comiskey.
My first baseball game was a Windy City classic back in the late 80s, when inter-league play didn't even count for the record books. They used to have these reversible hats. One side was for cubs and one for sox. I think I had that hat up until about 1999 before it disappeared.
You're right about the Cubs bloated payroll too. Who would have thought Milton Bradley would have been this shitty? His numbers have been atrocious this season. Add to that a slumping Soriano, an injured Aramis Ramirez (who is sorely missed), and a sub-par bullpen (Marmol sucks... we all need to accept this), and you've got a mediocre team struggling for 3rd place in the NL Central. It's funny, but the Cubs, Astros, and Reds are pretty much just handing the division to Milwaukee or St. Louis.
Edit: I've been reading online lately about baseball teams that are located close to one another, as in same city, area, or state, and apparently New York and Chicago are the only cities which have a "You must choose one team or else!" attitude about their ball clubs. Oakland/San Fransisco teams you are generally allowed to like both and no one cares. Same for the Texas and LA teams. It's funny how that happens.

Your right Hog, not really into baseball, but I am into football & I was a massive Bears fan ( don't get much time to watch these days)
So just had to pick the Cub's as My baseball side.
But when it comes to Basketball has to be the Boston Celtics, sorry Blondie, cant be doing with the Bulls
I had a GF from Chicago, so worked out well being a Bears/Cubs fan & She lived in Boston, so worked out well for the Basketball as well (for me anyhow)
I disagree with you on the A's/Giants thing. You pick one or the other. Same way, but even more extreme, with football. You either go Raiders or go home. I mean, pick the 49ers...
I'm a rough-ridin', hootin' and hollerin', ladyboy lovin' cowboy! Bang bang yer dead!!!
