A few observations -

Last night on Walking Street there was a police round up of unlicensed vendors. I was told this by one of the ex-pat Tourist Police, a Thai resident of 35 years who is always good for a chat to learn the latest.

The police were gainfully employed last night rounding up miscreants guilty of the serious crime of trying to make a living. "Who did you get?" I asked. Over 300 of them, flower sellers, laser keyring sellers... all those troublemakers I was told.

"Seems to me they would be better off rounding up the drug dealers" I told him. He just grinned & then to prove the worthiness of their efforts, he added: "plus we took in all the ladyboys". Well that's all right then, it seems they get charged 500 baht each for standing in WS. Then they are released to go back to what they were doing. I guess they need to allow them to earn more money so they can pay the 500 the next time.

Lawkeeping Thai style. But I know I will sleep better knowing those dangerous flower sellers aren't allowed to ply their trade... well for an hour at least.

Across the Soi from the hotel is Happy Place, a new gay Go Go. Every night boys beseech me to enter this den of iniquity, an offer I happily ignore. Last night out of curiousity I looked through the curtains. Someone has spent some money there so, feeling emboldened, I went in. One drink I thought, it can't do me any harm & who knows, I may even 'get it'. The gay thing that is, not 'it'.

I chatted to a Norwegian chap next to me who after a bit asked me "you're not gay are you?". "No" I replied (I could say that with certainty after witnessing all the boys in their undies in varying states of tumescence). "But" I added, trying to be agreeable "I do like some of the ladyboys".

"Ladyboys!!" he shouted, "eeeech, I can't stand ladyboys".

And that sums up exactly what I have always believed about liking LBs & being gay. Never the twain shall meet. BTW, they charge 150 baht for a beer & the biggest group in there were 3 Asian girls. I didn't think they were Thai though. And most of the staff were gayer than Xmas.

One other problem that arises in every bar & impacts hardest on the pretty girls is jealousy from the lesser lights who are now so desperate for a barfine, they have taken to threatening the girls life if they cause them to lose a customer. This has been reported to me several times with the latest girl saying she had to leave her last bar over the same thing. She was frantic for me to take home the offended party. I wasn't keen, even less inclined given her aggression. I settled the matter with a 300 baht payment. Was it enough? I suppose I will find out.

I suspect this is a reason for Nicky's constant moving around bars followed by periods where she disappears. I cannot imagine the sight of her turning up to work fills the other girls with happiness. But she seems popular & I know she lends money to those in need. And FYI, the Thai word for 'lend' translates as 'gift'.

I saw Donut from C&Ds in Phuket out on the town last night with her sponsor. She is quite a looker, taller than I expected but with a beautiful smile. I last saw her sitting with him at the front of JSB fitting in rather well. I wonder if they will be attending the opening tonight of Famous Bar? I will introduce myself. And I wonder who Lita has recruited to work at the new bar?

All will be revealed. I think there is potential for a little family rivalry unless Famous is destined to be a gay bar, its original intention. I wish them both the best of luck, Karl & Lita that is. When I know more I will post it.

About time to.   . Hawkers should be shot on site IMO. Just tell me what anyone would want a Laser Keyring while on Holiday in Pattaya. I can t fathom it out , can you. I think tourists should form vigilante groups and hang a few of the flower sellers... that'll teach em. At sunrise they can dance the Hempen Jig as they used to say in the good old days.

This is the best I have. As I mentioned, I didn't take that many pictures of Patty.

I just saw her downstairs in her GoGo get-up & her legs look great. Remember a photo taken with a wide angle lens does exaggerate extremities e.g. it can make legs look bigger than they are.

Yes, Patty works in Obsessions, it's her first ever time in a bar.

As for Riga, she has been in hospital again & even though she is back at work, she is obviously not well. All those who wished her dead, your prayers look like being answered soon.

Sorry if that sounds callous. The other night she was sitting down looking a ghastly colour. She had a 1000-yard stare on her face & I doubt she was able to stand up let alone ask anyone for a tip.

I went into Obsessions really to say goodbye to MaMassan Riga and her coven of junior MaMassans.

I know it is against convention but I like MaMassan Riga, she has always been good to me over the years (and I knew her from way before she came to Pattaya).

MaMassan Riga had been off ill this year for two months with heart trouble €“ she is seriously overweight and not at all healthy.

I am always on the look-out for someone interesting. Interesting in this case refers to that special something that so many here have. It might be a beautiful face, god, there are some stunners around, it might be a terrific body with long legs & a great rack, so when I notice one, two or all of those features, I do have to stop & look.

And when it all comes together on a ladyboy, what's a man to do? "Hello darling, what you doing?" seems to be as good an opening line as any.

Which is how I struck up my 'friendship' with Julie. At 3am this morning with absolutely no intention of taking anyone back to my room, Julie had me at "hello". Julie is a Walking Street professional. No bars for her, she starts work when she wants, gets her couple of customers every night, then goes home to sleep all day.

Julie is from Vientianne. She has done very well trading on her looks. She has a condo in Bangkok, courtesy of an Italian sponsor, ("not so big" she told me by way of mitigation), she has a fabulous rack that keeps her in constant employment from an Australian sponsor who also coughed up for her Honda Jazz. Just why she is working every night on WS wasn't made clear. Could young Julie possibly be exaggerating?

Here she is. Not the most willing of posers ("I no want photo") I eventually had her allow me to take a few shots. I would like to get some more, she's a natural beauty.

I think Julie was tired of telling all the Middle East fellas that she wasn't going to entertain them for the risible amounts they were offering so when I suggested she could knock off early for a comfortable bed & stay all night, she took a moment before accepting what wasn't a bad deal given the current crowd in Pattaya.

Something I can add about Julie. Apart from having the loveliest body with the softest skin, she was genuinely enthusiastic to cuddle & watch a movie with me. That was straight after she delivered on her part of our verbal contract. Though she doesn't 'smoke'...

There's a lot to recommend about Julie. Tall without being too tall, genuinely pretty, beautiful even with big kissable lips, classic Laotian almond shaped eyes, a fabulous chest that feels perfect, (top surgery there), a cute arse, but not recommended for 'bottoms'. Though she stayed rock hard & during a little fooling around, she shot her load. A petite ladylike load it may have been but she trembled all over as she succumbed to the 'desire of the flesh'

A touch of hyperbole there for those who actually read what I write but I can't stop smiling as I think of it...
