Didn't go out at night in Kanchanaburi except for dinner. Brought my own lb so never had a chance to monger.

A good thing about ladyboys is they are happy in the simplest of accomadations. I had one tell me she liked to sleep on tile floor on hot nights because it was cooler, instead of sharing bed with her sister.

The original Bridge was bombed by the allies in 1945. It was later built back. After the war the Thailand and Burma destroyed the tracks 100 Kilometers on each side because of the grim episode of WWII.

The War cemeterie in Kanchanaburi is one three cemeteries for the 16,000 allied POW's who died. The triumphant allies forced the Japanese to dig up all the bodies along the entire railway to be burried here and the other two cemeteries.

This one is immacualnt, well groomed with exotic and native flowers. 6,982 total prisoners of war including 3,568 Brits, 1,896 Dutch, and 1,362 Australians. The remains of 356 Americans were repatriated.

The War Museum is just a short walk from the Cemeterie.

The Museum is not all that great, but not expensive. you will get more out of a good book, and the thais sell them and other WWII commemorative stuff.

Wat Pa Luangta Bua Yannasampanno (Tiger Temple) is about 2 1/2 hours from BKK. Its only 45 minutes from Kanchanaburi. Its basically a Monastery in the forest to propagate Buddhism while conserving wildlife/forests.

It started with a wounded Jungle fowl given to the Monk by villagers. then Peacocks came attracted by the calls of the jungle fowl. An injured Wild Boar stumbled in and was cared for by the monks until it could be released back into the forest.

The first tiger cub came in 1999 when its mother was killed by poachers. This region is believed to have the largest surviving tiger population. Poaching still exist although fines and awareness have helped but a Thai can get up $6,000 USD for killing a Tiger, so its well worth the risk.

Through donations the park has expanded. Some Western cultures call it nothing more than a glorified Zoo. The Tigers are very docile (not sedated) due to being raised in captivity.

If you take the trip don't wear Red or Orange and if you take a ladyboy make sure she covers her legs. they will let Westerners wear shorts, but since its Temple the Thais can't wear shorts. I had to buy my ladyboy these black pants so she could get in.

This area of the Park is known as Tiger Canyan. The Monks bring the tigers out here for baths and to display. If you pay more baht you can actually sit on the Tiger if your small, or they will put it on your lap.

The volunteers are young thai kids and Western backpackers. The line goes quick with about 5 Tigers in the Canyan and plenty of volunteers. They hand out free cold bottle of water as well.
