        • The Muay Thai boxing promo truck cruises past the old pink Bangla Stadium which is somethingelse now and Boxing is down the road.

Used to be a bar next to the old C&D's that had thai boxing and played that annoying music all night. You could hear it from inside the shorttime hotel accross from C&D's. They shared toilet facilities with C&D's then. fortunately that has gone by the wayside too.

          • Nalin prepares to play the nail game. First to knock their nail all the way in with a chipping hammer wins. Each player takes one hit at a time. Beware the silly Issan gfirls who try to get you to play this for a drink. they have become quite good at it.

              • Other Phuket diversions.

Go carts are pretty lame. The thai operators are on your case as soon as you pay that you will have to pay for any damages. The carts geared lower than most and I've done a lot of tracks. This one is pretty small.

The off road buggy is even worse. You have to go single file, no passing and these things go about 25 k max I would guess. Take a pass on these unless you just want an easy sunday drive its a waste of money.

                      • A lot of diving trips go out of Phi Phi thus a lot of backpackers on the island. A few Thai hippies accomadate them with herbs.

                        • Phi Phi is shaped kind of like a bow tie with the beaches in the middle. One side is the pier and about a 100 metres the other side is the nicer beach for swimming etc. The Tsunami washed straight over that 100 metre stretch. You can see fantastic You tube videos on it. Some vacant lot were still there where small structures once were.

A structure made of coral rocks that some backpackers made only to be wiped out by the tide that evening.

                              • Plenty of exploring at the end of the beach as it turns into rain forest so it doesn't get to hot if your taking a hike with your honey.
