Hmmm..had to try my new Canon G-10 and decided to do it last night.
I think I still need to learn how to use this little beast for indoor shooting. Results weren't good at all

Looker, glad to see you're starting to practice more with your G10! If you have not yet purchased an off camera flash, I would suggest you do so. Get a flash with a head that will tilt and swivel, so you can bounce the flash and get better lighting.

The problem you are having now is that direct flash is harsh, and creates unwanted shadows.

Nice to see the macro shot - the comments about the Orbis Ring Flash are quite correct, I tried it with donnnny's camera and it is cumbersome, mainly because it does not fit very securely on the flash head. Ones that fit better seem to be easier to handle as per the reading I've done. A ring flash would be very handy if there isn't enough light.

Red eyes doesn't seem to be too common with Ring Flash - and I am sure donnnny did not do red eye removal on his photos.

Yes..I have not purchased a flash to be mounted on the shoe my G-10 has.
I'm sure for shots taken at home it will serve the purpose and avoid those strong shadows, but don't want to have a flash to carry around when I'm out.
Bough the G-10 just to have something handy to carry around and easy to use. In fact, easy is not since has all the functions of a sophisticated DSRL

I also bough a second hand Mamiya 6 film which I'll start using today I hope.

Oh yes..I tried some macros. In some cases came out quite ok, technically speaking, but too scientific.
This is probably the least "medical" looking one.
