Hi everyfriends. 2026 Feb 17th is the chinese new year.I had planned to use this two-week vacation to visit Pattaya, a place I've been longing to see for two years—I haven't seen those lovely ladyboy beauties since. I've already found many people I'd like to date on ThaiFriend, but a health-related news item caught my attention: the Nipah virus is spreading from India, and Thailand is a popular holiday destination for many Indians. Although there are health screenings at the airport for Indian-Bangladesh travelers, I've postponed my trip. I'd like to ask if anyone has been following this virus, or if there are any reports about it in your country, so I can assess the safety risks of traveling to Thailand next month.

I am going to the Philippines in about a week so I did some research into the virus. They had an outbreak in Mindanao in 2014 and there have been incidents in Malaysia and Singapore (!). There are precautions that you can take especially regarding animals and food that may have been touched by animals. Bats and pigs are the main culprits apparently.Comment

After Covid I don't let any virus stop me from enjoying life.
Most of that was lies and this probably is exaggerated also. I've been alive a long time and only in the last 10 years has every outbreak and virus been an emergency. They tried to get us with the Swine flu in the 2000s but nobody bit. Seems these things only take off if many people believe in them.
Bats, pigs and pangonlins are always the culprits when in fact the covid virus was created by Faucis.
