Russian Police raid nightclub after reports of transgender performances

Police in the republic of Sakha (Yakutia) detained staff at a nightclub after officials accused the venue of hosting performances featuring transgender entertainers from Thailand, local media reported Thursday.

The raid, conducted at the club Number One in Yakutsk, was prompted by a complaint from the Yakutsk Administrative Commission, which accused the club of “publicly promoting non-traditional relationships and gender transition” through performances by invited transgender men and women from Thailand.

Just the producers in Russia take some risk but there is lots of trans escorts in Moscow & other bigger cities and I don't think it is so bad there. These people in Yakutsk I would think are the Russian equivilent of rednecks. Things are different out in the country.

If the police raided the club at lunch time, there is no chance they would have found any Thai lbs working. Thai lbs don't start working until 5 pm at the earliest when working in a club/bar.

I just think everywhere larger cities are more Liberal and open minded about trans. Also it is easier in a big city to blend in, especially an international one. This was a smaller remote city.

In most countries like this they don't want trans ideology promoted but they also don't want to necessarily prosecute individuals for their feelings that came naturally. To some extent whatever you do privately they have no business in. Often for trans their best option for a good life is escorting, & authorities recognize this. It's when you are out promoting it by a performance like this or encouraging others to be trans. Perhaps they feel casual sex doesn't attack family values as much or just live & let live.

They don't seem to be arresting trans so much or you wouldn't see so many trans escorts advertising.

i am agree your viewpoint everything shoud not extreme.While we appreciate transgender people, we also hope that they can get a better living space
