Article in Pattaya Mail. Google "Pattaya Beach Road plagued by traffic and parking woes". Yes indeed it is very crowded with too many people, traffic, and uncompleted sidewalk construction. A lot of road and sidewalk dust is whipped up into the air u breathe. Have to wear face masks everyday. The streets and walkways are so filthy with dirt I don't think they ever steamcleaan them late at night. News sez the government still can't seem to control air pollution. As long as the population grows and allows street food stalls to cook with gas the city air will always stink. This will be the last vacation i spend here. Will seek other places less farther away. I read the Russian and english tourists are too rowdy and crazy drivers, especially in Ko samui, ko tao, and ko phangan. Thailand is maxed out. Restaurants are now getting smarter and charging cover or adding service charges from 10- 25%. Might be killing the goose that laid the golden egg. Almost no good-looking ladyboys to be found anywhere. Might be hiding on online dating sites. I don't wish to talk to them. Too many phony photos. And hidden dirty tricks. But am tired of the heavy traffic and pedestrians crowding the crooked sidewalks. Lots of dust and air smog everywhere. Have to wear face mask whenever I ride the baht buses. These drivers are bad. Jerking forward, hard stops, jack rabbit starts. Will surely wear out their clutches, transmission, and tires. Scares passengers. If there is a collision there's no soft padding at the end of the seating. Ss all around. Wish they would start a bus service like the tourist shuttles. AC, more comfortable seats with ample head room, and much safer and patient drivers. Am willing to pay more for getting to my destinations without sitting like a hunchback. Interesting thst the Philippines has started a nation plan to stop the famous and colorful jeepneys and replace them with subsidized more modern transports. But will cost 5 times more in 5 years. I think some greedy businessmen bribed Boingboin. The government has never successfully fought poverty. Gonna get worse. They have the BIGGEST economic DEFICIT in the world. Always been and will always be. Now they're sitting on the USA to save them from the Communist Chinese coast guard and their water cannons. Your problemo brah. If China does invade and conquer PI I will wish them a miserable experience trying to rule a criminal nation of stupendous stupid people. People have asked me what I studied there. I always say I wasn't studying anything. They were studying me.

Next week I leave to Bangkok. Will seek treatment at Bumrungrad for my spinal lumbar pain. Getting harder for me to walk without a cane. Hope they'll take an xray and start a local anesthetic block. They're good. Can do everything in one day even without an appointment. My Hawaii insurance will cover Bumrungrad bills. I just have to pay now by credit card then show the receipts to my insurer. Takes about 6 months to be reimbursed. Last month 2 local blocks to my AC (acromion- clavicle) joint, 2 office vists, and xray totaled us$600. They worked perfectly. So good that i cancelled plans to redo the blocks next week. Glad i vacationed in Bangkok. Don't think I'll return to Pattaya. Too congested and polluted. Maybe Krabi, ko samui. And the beaches. And Phuket since I'll be nearby.

No more jeepneys in the Philippines? I find this hard to believe. Personally I would not miss them since I always bump my head on the ceiling getting in and out. Everything there is made for short people!

Funny u didn't know. It's all over the international and Philippines news outlets. 70% of jeepney drivers have approved the change. I think because of the 5x profits in 5 years. I think they should keep the jeepneys in the rural areas. Yes, the ceilings are very low. Some drivers are bad. A classmate had his right arm crushed when the jeepney rolled over. Filipino doctors said a big section of the radius was crushed and unsalvageable. They recommended cutting off the ulnar bone and making his arm 4 inches shorter. He returned to California and returned with a cast. But his hand was curled over. Impossible to be a surgeon. Never stick your arm outside a car window. I must have been extremely lucky to have had only one accident. I ran over a homeless guy dancing in the street where nobody was supposed to be. Nailed him right in his crotch with my honda 100XL. Lots of bad and crazy drivers. Pedestrians, too. Philippines newspapers never reports auto accidents. Too many to count.

With the arrival of new year's Day I'm notice a little boost in restaurant prices. Now adding sakes tax and service charges. A few are also adding VAT taxes.

Bars crowds have toned back down to bad. I've noticed some pretty ladyboys are working in girl bars. Since they're so hard to distinguish I have to ask a bargirl if there's any ladyboys. So u should hunt there.
