How to Move to Thailand or the Philippines with Investment or Remote Work?

Hi everyone,

I am interested in moving to either Thailand or the Philippines and would like some advice on how to do so with either investing in a business or working remotely.

I have heard that both countries have a relatively low cost of living compared to the UK. However, I am unsure about the logistics of moving there and how to support myself financially.

For those who have experience living in either country or have knowledge of the process, I would appreciate any tips or advice on

• Setting up a business and investing in Thailand or the Philippines
• Finding remote work opportunities (Little experience)

Any other general advice or resources would also be greatly appreciated.

The Philippines has a liberal retirement visa program for those with money to invest or a pension:

There was one option available to those as young as 35 who could invest $50,000. Unfortunately this option has been suspended but the options for those over 50 remain available.

The cost of living is probably half what it is in the UK. Internet service is fairly good for those working remotely. There are a lot of call centers in the Philippines which service American customers and many of those service reps work remotely.
