Returning to Mexico in October

So we finished our 2 weeks in Playa Del Carmen and we are headed to Cozumel which is an island about one hour ferry ride from Playa. It is known to be some of the world's most beautiful beaches and best diving and snorkeling.
We are booked at the ocean front Intercontinental Presidente Cozumel.


The ferry to Cozumel is $11 US to get there so we took 1ou:r bags in a taxi to the ferry terminal. When we got there around 1:30PM they said there was not another ferry until 3:30pm. Then they said they had a plane that could take us in 10 minutes to the island. We are like "a plane, WTF". The guy said it was $300 for the 2 of us to go.
Then he said it was $150 US if he could find another 2 people to go with us, but he did not find anyone so he offered $250 US to take us in the Cessna. We were skeptical but decided to try it. They took us to the near by airport and they searched our bags a bit but there was no xray or metal detector. We then got on the plane and in 10 minutes were in Cozumel, hours earlier than we expected. Amazing $250 for a private plane, probably wouldn't happen in normal times.

The flight was great and short and Fernanda had never been on a small plane before. It cost $24 to get to our resort from the Cozumel airport and we got our room upgraded to a Club Room. The place is beautiful.

So this hotel in Cozumel had a very small natural sand beach but had beach areas on rocky areas with excellent snorking and scuba diving. The designated swimming areas at the hotel were deep and meant for snorkeling and scuba. I tried one day and saw how good it was under the water there.

So the next day Fernanda and I went snorkeling and it was the best snorkeling I have ever experienced. I have gone on snorkeling tours in Thailand and this snorkeling from the beach of the hotel was by far the best snorkeling I've done. One side of the resort had a sunken ship that was just full of fish and other creatures.
The other side of the resort had some coral that was amazing and full of every kind of fish and life. This was the first time snorkeling for Fernanda and she loved it.

This was the best off shore snorkeling ever and Cozumel looks to be one of the best scuba and snorkeling locations on earth. Better snorkeling and scuba adventures could be had and you can be picked up by boat right at the resort. Great place if you love this kind of thing.

After the snorkeling we relaxed on the center beach and had some drinks as the sun set.

So time to go back to Cancun before our flight to Las Vegas. Before leaving we had breakfast by the sea.
We took the ferry from Cozumel to Playa Del Carmen which is $11 per person much cheaper than the $250 we paid to fly there.
At the ferry station we had to wait about an hour for the ferry and it took about an hour to cross.

On our last night in Mexico we stayed at the Krystal Grand Hotel in Cancun. This hotel is a Mexican brand and rated 5 stars but it was only about $200 for all inclusive which includes all food and booze. This hotel was a really great location close to the action in Cancun and a very nice beach.

We went down to the halloween buffet and it was great. We also had free beers and tequils, also some halloween drinks like bloody cocktail and mango drinks with eyeballs. Then we went to the halloween party by the beach.

A great time in Mexico, now off to Las Vegas in search of a Vaccina.
