Glad to see you're having a good time in Brazil minus a few biking accidents! Interesting to hear how your experiences with the Brazilian shemales differs from Thai lbs. Would be really an interesting is if you happen to come across one of those rare Brazilian/Japanese shemales. Hopefully you will have the good fortune to meet up with one.

The main problem was the the mountain bike I bought had a cheap shock in the front that could not be adjusted. So my weight was too much for that shock so the couple times I got over the handle bars the shock just collapsed.
So now I have gotten a new shock that I can lock out and some new brakes, so far things are going better. Fortunately the humid salty air helps heal the scapes.
My goal is to ride my bike up to Christo the Rendentor at least before the end of my trip but probably sooner. Yesterday I managed to finish the first climb of 522 meters but still i could only ride 2/3 of it the rest I had to walk. Every day I am riding more and more of the uphill portions.
Since I am was kind of fat when i got here I'm not that confident about meeting the ladies but I think soon I will feel better and maybe get a little more action going, I still have 2 more months at least. Not really into the techno clubs that much since it is just too much drugs and if there is TS there they are usually very high. If do any of these party drugs my equipment tends not to work and these parties are kind of boring if you are not really high. If you want to meet the TS when they are not too wasted you probably have to called them in the afternoon or evenings until midnight. Weekdays are probably a good idea if you possibly want an over night since there is no parties they want to attend.
Even the ones I have found on Grindr all are escorts of some sort in the end. I think long time is not a popular in Brazil, probably because they are not interested in any emotional connection. In Thailand I think many count on an emotional connection.
In general it seems most of the TS here are quite thick builds. I've seen many skinnier ones in porn but they don't seem easy to find.
Certainly there is a large Japanese population here, not sure how many ladyboys there is or if they are easy to find. There should also be many Thai ladyboys here but not sure where they would be either. Layla (my ex Thai ladyboy) and some of her friends lived and worked in Brazil for a number of years. Thais can easily come to Brazil so there has to be a cache of ladyboys somewhere.
Now seeing all the gorgesous women at the beach every day I'm thinking of going for some women. I haven't really checked the female escorts but I was thinking of checking Tindr.
Air Canada once again changed my flight for about the 15th time. Now they moved it one day from May 7 to May 8.
I may just make a border run at some point and get another visa. I assume if i go to Mexico for a week or two then I should get a fresh 90 day visa on return.

When i arrived I saw the hotel I stayed in when I came here 20 years ago was not closed and boarded up due to Covid.

This apartmento is located in Ipanema, one of the most upscale areas of Rio and with a beach view and one block from it.
It has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a washer. It has a massive balcony that runs across all three rooms of the apartment.
It has a huge king size bed and daily maid service. Wifi and power (including air con) are all included.
As well as parking and doormen and security.
This works out to $80 a night which is similar to what I might pay in Pattaya for an ocean view apartment which isn't even as nice.
If i wanted to live in the middle of Rio or up north I could pay $50 and up. This apartmento is not representative of the general cost of a Brazilian person.
This is high end touristy and trendy area and probably this place would be more if there were many tourists.
Here is a $400 apartment in the middle of Rio. Not near the beach.
Probably what the average working person might stay in. Many live in much cheaper.
Then as you get out of Rio it is probably cheap as hell to live. I imagine there is very cheap aparmentos in Sao Paulo.
If you have no money you can just live in one of the Favelas for free...

So if i look on AirBNB.com I see there is 2 units that look like they are available in your Green building right on Av Atlantica. This is a prime tourist loction.
Here we have 2 studios at todays rates one is about $500 per month and the other is about $600 per month.
So both are under $20 USD per night. Now is the time to visit I think.
Certainly I am over paying but I got the place i want with the amenties I want.
Those studio apartments you have a small window to look out compared to my massive balcony.
This is my view from my bedroom in the morning....

Another nice feature in Brazil thati miss from Thailand is the bathroom hose.
Almost all rooms and apartments have at least a hose, and anything higher end has a bidet.
Bidets are very common in Brazil and most decent hotels.

Other reasons to stay in Ipanema rather than Copacabana, or even in the inner city.
Copacabana is very busy and very heavily concentrated with smaller apartments. There is luxury condos along the beach but the area is still very busy. Since it is the top tourist area, the beach there is busy and it contains the majority of the scammers, which George has eluded to. However if you want a decent apartment cheap by the beach in Rio, Copacabana is the place to be. Even right on the beach you can get a place under $20 USD right now. You will be more likely to be harassed along the beach and more open to theft or other crimes in other areas of Copacabana. Additionally with covid people are much closer together in Copa. However if you like a large variety of restaurants and services at all prices, Copacabana is the place.
Ipanema is much more upscale and the beach tends to have more and better looking women and less vermin trying to rip you off. The Ipanema area is very clean and wide open, you are not going to be close to many people walking down the street and the shops and restaurants are higher class and there is much better shopping period. Apartments and hotels are nicer and bigger and roomier but more expensive and pretty much everything in Ipanema costs a little more. You are very safe in Ipanema as there is not much crime. All the condos are fenced up and there is nobody sleeping on the street or beggars.
Another feature of Ipanema beach is this is where the main gay area of the beach. Along the beaches you will find flags everywhere and some are specific to certain tribes. Ipanema has the gay part of the beach and my buddy says he has picked up trans there in the past, of course he is a hot young Brazilian dude. Currently he is dating a GG whom he picked up at the gay beach, she is also into TS. I have not been to this part of the beach or really ON the beach at all, mostly I have been beside it. Being out of shape is one thing detering me as everyone at the beach is in super shape, so I don't want to feel like a big white blob out there. I plan to get out there soon. You can get away with being a big white whale in Thailand but here you tend to stick out.....
As you can see Ipanema is quieter and wide open. The restaurants serve Coke Zero in bottles rather than cans.

I will have to go get an actual picture of the Ipanema gay beach which is called Farme Gay Beach. Apparently there is a strip of gay bars nearby which may or may not be open right now. As I said this is a place to meet trans.
farme-beach-e1529075700357-720x341.jpg
According to that travel Gay website there is also a gay beach on Copacobana.
In their words:
Praia de Bolsa is a beach frequented by many transgender women from across Rio, and their admirers.
This stretch of sand is popular with the trans community as they often perform in nearby venues in between bathing and parading in the hot Rio sunshine.
This area is directly in front of the Copacabana Palace Hotel, so is easy to locate.

Now I took some pictures during the day in front of the Copacabana Palace at the beginning of the beach lock down. So I didn't notice anything.
I will have to check out this Bolsa Beach when it is busier.
Nothing going on at Bolsa beach on this day.

Found a good place for Breakfast today. It has been hard to get breakfast in Rio because they don't like to serve it past 11 am or even earlier.
The Gringo Cafe has American Breakfast 24 hours a day.

Then the final piece of the puzzle to getting settled in is a good haircut.
So I found this place a couple blocks from my hotel and walked right in, got a hair cut and was out within 20 minutes.
70 Reais which is about $12.
They offered Coffee, Water, Soft Drinks or Beer while you wait or get your hair cut.

thank you very much for your opinion. I really appreciate. I’ve checked the website and according to her pics Giuliana Brum looks gorgeous. Maybe I will try her but before I will investigate other experiences with her in order to check her performance with first timers...
Nevertheless chicks with strapons also seems a good idea

I have tried Giulia Brum who is fantastic; Lohany was very nice and an older one Anna Bismark. The issue 99% do not speak English. The last 3 trips I did concentrate on strap-on girls for a simple reason: I love feet and theirs are nice; I also like golden showers and I do not ming receiving a few from girls. Some of them, both GGs and Trans would not give me their full address, so it may be beneficial to buy a brazilian SIM to have web access in the streets.

I went there 20 years ago and would never go back. I don't plan to pick up any off the street.
Maybe at the beach during the day or possibly one at a beach bar but not hookers off shemale street.
I'm not needing to pinch pennies on this trip or get a dangerous thrill.
Last trip my buddy picked up a cute TS on Copacobana.
Many times when we were walking home from HELP there was naked GG girls on Copacobana beach.
One time there was two naked girls having faux sex on the hood of a car.
I don't think this would happen now days.

Tour Rocinha Favella near Ipanema.
rocinha favela tour - YouTube
Seems they have guided tours who can show you the safest routes to walk. And eat and shop. Didn't know that. But still the dangerous cops and drug dealers constantly fight to kill like madmen.
