I was tired of my crappy little apartment in Copacabana, so I moved to nice apartmento in Ipanema.
It is one block from the beach with a decent view of the ocean.
$2500 per month which is pretty good.

When i arrived I saw the hotel I stayed in when I came here 20 years ago was not closed and boarded up due to Covid.

The beach lockdown ended and now they opened restaurants until 9pm in Rio only after 5 days. I think they realized they went too far with the restrictions.

Lots of beauties down at the beach as usual. Ipanema beach is bar far the best for scenery.

The surf is very high lately, I'd be scare to go in the water.

Some Brazilian surfers do pretty good winning contests on the north shores of Oahu. One even drowned at the Pipeline. Last week another surfer was found floating unconscious in the surf. Later died. Too many surfers in the water and not enough life guards.

What is the exchange rate for Sterling? I guess you exchange Canadian dollars, just to have an idea. In London I can get 7 reais for one Sterling

I have brought a bunch of US cash that has a pretty good exchange. I didn't really note the exact exchange rate but it was very good.
I have been getting fairly close to the posted exchange rates on the internet. It is good enough I'm not really paying attention to the rates so much.
Much of what I buy is on credit and mostly just pay for grey market stuff with cash. Using cards here to pay is even more saturated than North America.

Foreign currencies seem to be dropping over the last couple weeks. The rates you would get here at any moment are probably better than your home country.
However if you are travelling months in the future buying Reais now might make sense.

Canada is so locked down the banks would not even sell me any foreign currency other than US bucks.
US greenbacks are very well liked here unlike Thailand where they only like baht and other currencies are harder to exchange.
They haven't even asked for my passport. I recommend Lebanon Exchange in Rio Copacobana.

Eduardo Paes is at most a centrists. Brazil has actually socialist parties and none of them have major power in the state of Rio.

You probably don't even like ladyboys, if you can't be bothered to introduce yourself and why you love ladyboys.

The current mayor Paes is at odds with the President of Brazil. While he may not be specifically socialist he is uses socialist tactics.
He accuses the former mayor of genocide, which has nothing to do with the pandemic at all. (The virus only attacks certain races?)
He uses lockdowns and curfews which are primarily and socialist tactic. As far as i'm concerned he is acting as a socialst to defy the right wing President in some ways. Calling ridiculous names and restricting peoples freedom is a socialist tactic. That is my understanding and opinion.

This is my thread and if you want to discuss Brazilian politics and correct me then go to some Brazilian politics forum.
I am calling it as I see it and as I discuss with my friends.

If you want to start a thread about all your Brazilian TS and throw in some of your own views, that is fine.

As I clearly have stated many times in this thread Rio is substantially better than anywhere in Canada which is just a hell hole in comparison. The mayor here also backed off and let restaurants open until 9 now.
In Canada a one week lockdown or curfew would turn into 3 months or longer.

Went to some big techno party last night. Man was I wasted.
Mostly a straight crowd only the TS we were with and possibly a couple others.

It is not like Thailand where you can go to gogo bars to meet ladyboys. There is no actual TS bars in Brazil. You may find them at gay bars or parties, gay or straight.
They may not even show up until very late (or early) or there may be some there all night.

If the Gay clubs are open by September you should be able to find some there. However it might just be easier to find an escort to get started.
That Industria Club in Sao Paulo had many but they can tend to be very high at these parties.

Personally I would not pick up any of them in the streets, but this is me. Riorelax is a great website, Photoacompanhantes has both GGs and Trans. I have tried Giulia Brum who is fantastic; Lohany was very nice and an older one Anna Bismark. The issue 99% do not speak English. The last 3 trips I did concentrate on strap-on girls for a simple reason: I love feet and theirs are nice; I also like golden showers and I do not ming receiving a few from girls.
