I've been to Koh Larn 2 times and won't go back. The water is cleaner but nothing special. I prefer Jomtien or even north of there for beach.
Last time I found 100 baht when i was swimming at Koh Lan, so the water is clear. However our boat stranded us with some other company that didn't take us back to the same spot. We hired a speed boat in front of the Hilton but we got dropped off at the pier where you got the boat.
Those Russians have (had) big party boats that cruised around off Pattaya and around Koh Larn.
Not as many Russians last 2 times I've been to Pattaya.

Is a new coup coming to succeed the last one by a schmuck general who used the army to back him up.? As I understand it Thaksin Shinawatra and his sister Yingluck have incredible amounts of money stored in the Hong Kong banks where they are now living. Enough to buy saboteurs who will find ways to worsen the economy. Easy to ship portable arms like rocket launchers, armalites, and other lightweight portable weapons. Sellers of weapons of coups can be sold clandestinely by the US or China who both have all kinds of interests in land-rich Thailand.The people are desperate and ripe for a coup. Seize the moment. Strike while the iron is hot. Fight corruption. Fight poverty. Rise up like the French Revolution. Everybody needs to get out now. I think things are going to get much worse than the virus, fear, and starvation. Yep, Thailand has a coup every 4 years. This one is just a bit overdue.Comment

The Shinawatras are not violent people. Thaksin was rich business man who influenced people with money and promises.
I just can't see them using money to supply arms to anyone. Still this would not be a coup but rather a rebellion.
Coups in Thailand always involve a powerful faction of the military flexing it's muscle and kicking out the elected leader.
A General always ends up in charge until elections are allowed again. Then the military will over throw them perhaps.
The military already controls the country, I don't think they will over throw themselves.

They closed mosquito Island (Koh Yung) a few years ago to protect the coral. When I had been to bamboo island 2 years and half ago, the captain said it had been closed for a few years (3 or 4 if I remember well), so it would be 6 years now. Closed meant that no one could step on the Island but scuba diving was also prohibited around it.Originally posted by flamingofarmer View Post

This was my second year in Thailand. Hard to believe they're young boys transformed into girls. These shows should definitely go to Vegas.
