Kings Corner 2 (Patpong) Re-Opening As GAY GO-GO Bar

I stumbled upon a twitter account of a Japanese man, who seems to be the owner of a Karaoke club in Patong, as well as massage parlors.

After browsing through his account, he seems to be a fan of ladyboys. Which is not surprising at all for a Japanese. But the main thing is, what he wrote in regards to Kings Corner 2. Apparently it has closed down as of March 16th, and will reopen as a gay boy bar.

A lot of the gays bars from soi 4 have slowly been creeping over to soi 1 and 2, for whatever reason. And it looks like the trend is gonna continue if this news is true. But from what I've seen at those places, the talent was underwhelming.

It is weird, and its pretty big news also if it hold true. I mean this is the go to ladyboy bar of Patpong right? I just wonder what happens to the girls, do they head over to join NEP and Cowboy bars? They have to work somewhere. Maybe they join the Check Inn bar crew.

Tavern 2 does have a nice design to it, I do like the classy look it has. I just don't think the girls there are as hot as other places. But maybe the Kings Corner girls will end up there and SixtyNine. If that happens, things might be ok. I'd just be sad about no more bikinis...haha

Well gay tourism is big business these days. In Thailand ladyboys have been main stream there for a while but the gay scene still seemed more underground.
As more people use the internet to find ladyboys, it probably is having an effect on the bar scene.

With the gay crowd they probably are more likely to go out to party than ladyboy lovers.
Not only can gay guys bar fine a cute guy to take home, but they could also pick up other customers too.
Ladyboy bars do not have this dynamic and there is less interaction between customers, so I can see a gay bar making more money perhaps.

Plus I think our older generation likes going out to bars, while many younger seem to like staying in their room and ordering in.
Unfortunately public interaction is something that seems to be declining. Not as much in the gay scene though.

Gay guys are very outgoing, and more open to going out mingling with other gay guys. With gay people, both sides know they are gay, so they feel more free. Everything is already open and out on the table with them. Gay guys can go out, and if they are the type to act normal, you'd think they're just friends. So no reason to be shy.

I think when it comes to ladyboy lovers, a lot of guys are shy about being seen with ladyboys. A lot of guys like them, but don't want to admit it, or don't have the courage to mingle with ladyboys. They are afraid people will think they are gay, and that's not the case since LB lovers are straight. I have noticed when I go to ladyboy bars, the customers are often seated a bit far apart. to wear you can't really see faces. Guys want to stay anonymous while with ladyboys. While ladyboy tourism is popular in Thailand, it's still not really to the point that guys can just walk around openly with their ladyboy friend without people looking at them weirdly. There is always people saying "oh my god, does he know that's a ladyboy?" when they see a couple. But with gays, nobody really cares, like it's more accepted to be gay than be a ladyboy lover.

Ladyboys may be out of place some places in Thailand but still people are used to them being around.
There is still stigma there about guys walking around holding hands. I think a guy with a ladyboy is still more acceptable to most.

Two of the LB GFs I have had were pretty passable so I never got many looks anywhere, in Thailand or outside.
I did notice more looks with my first ladyboy relationship but she was more noticable.

Still it is getting easier to be gay or ladyboy most places in the world these days.

Toronto has one of the biggest gay strips in the world. While straight bars and clubs seem to be on the decline, the gay bars just seem to keep going.

It's a different world nowadays, more gays and ladyboys are coming out. I mean, 7 ladyboys bars in NEP, that says it all. I wouldn't be surprised at all if another one opened up, but I think it's regulated. Maybe too many ladyboys will turn off the majority of the customers that are there for the woman. But then again, the Japanese are good customers, and they love ladyboys. So if more ladyboys means more Japanese, it'll mean more money as well.

I have seen Japanese in Mercury bar as well. Then there is Cockatoo in soi Cowboy which mainly caters to the Japanese.

The man in the twitter link is the owner of a few Karaoke bars (Club F1 and Puru Puru) in Bangkok that employ a mix of ladies and ladyboy hostesses. So there are also these type of places, no so popular with farangs, that Japanese like to go to, outside of the Go Go bars.
