I don€™t know since gala event details have not been announced and if they fall short on their 200K baht goal, that could happen.

€œ€¦"...The week of fun and charity fundraising will culminate with a gala evening event at The Roof. The ladyboys we love from all of the sponsoring bars will dazzle and entertain us. Details about the gala event will be announced in the coming months....€"

The two sponsors have stated: "... €œ€¦Our goal is to raise 200,000 Baht€¦.We are already nearly halfway toward our goal of raising 200,000 Baht. We will need board members to step up and make individual pledges to reach our goal. Aprilbr will keep a record of individual pledges made by BMs here on this thread. It€™s my pleasure to make the first individual pledge of 5,000 Baht.€..."

Sounds like it is not fully organized but they are asking for donation pledges to kick things off.

I would assume the gala may have some tickets but perhaps is free for those that give donations.
Since they haven't organized it yet more information would be coming in future.

We can always take pledges on this board and pass them along to the organizers.

Or we can organize our own fun.....

Some suggestions. Why are most of the audience westerners? Where are the others? The Japanese love LB's and are big spenders. Think about how to get their attention to attend. Maybe they don't know there's a labyboy volleyball contest. There needs to be a marketing strategy with advertising in Japan newhalf bars as well as in Thailand. I haven't seen posters about this contest anywhere except in ladyboy bars. Why not have travel agents and kiosks sell the tickets and give them a decent commission. Have the Katoeys sell the tickets, too, and pay them a commission to get them excited. Do Thais like to watch this stuff? How can you advertise to them? Think. Why was there only one girl-girl at the contest 2 years ago. Just one! Think how you can get them to come in groups. Most of the time the guests are just sitting down, drinking, and watching the game. Needs to find a way to keep them interested and excited and not bored. Things were getting heated up when I saw a model dancing around sexily for fun. So I waved to her to keep it up while I videotaped her. This got everyone's attention and someone pushed me aside so he and others could get her to do the same for them. Maybe make a mini-stage for posers and hold a little side contest who will be the sexiest showoff.

I liked the musical skits by each bar's teams. That was an excellent addition. So put on your think caps and start listing the ways the Miss Tiffany Contest attracts so many viewers. Copy their techniques. Hope the next contest this November turns things around. It's a good thing for everyone.

LB bar participation may have been the problem why the LBWVB ended.

The LBWVB event always sold out the 250 max poolside limit for Areca Lodge. Beginning in 2015 several LB bars dropped out, i.e. Sensations, Baby Boom, La Bamba, but Streetwalker (event organizer) was able to get 6 teams. In 2016, after the 6 teams were announced, Check in Bar (CIB) dropped out late, but Lita Bar replaced CIB. In 2017, TJs dropped out in Sep, and the teams dropped from 6 to 5, but the cheer leading competition was added.

The replacement party week will be a marathon challenge since the party number went from 7 parties over 9 days to 10 parties over 10 days. The 2018 Fri night party Battle of the bars: Why Not Bangkok vs. Katoeys r Us was packed by 9:30pm so arriving late was not a strategy that worked for this party.

Yeah the problem was never really the attendance

Okay. That means the bars are not making enough money to justify sponsoring the contest. Not enough drinks sold and bar fines collected? Hmmmm. Ever notice how Walmart, Amazon.com, Target, and other megastores are doing so well. They give them what they want. Lower prices and good quality. Start advertising happy hours with beer by the pitchers. Keep the BF at B300 all year round. B400 during the holidays. Think of ways to sell more mixed drinks. I hardly ever see these and it's always beer bottles on the tables. More customers in the bars means more customers will choose to barfine someone for the night. Now I'd like to ask WHY did Stringfellows go out of business? I went there only once in 2012 and was shocked to find everyone was running around half-naked, dancing on the stage and off, and chasing each other like a true gangbang. Some sexy tall thing with dark skin, wild and ugly face, and sweaty body wired with lean muscle rushed up to me and said, "let's do it!" I looked down to see she was wearing a string bikini hiding a seriously large cock ready to burst out like a spring board. I was grabbed and forced to drink something and was fucked both ways all night. Forget how much the bill was and didn't care. What a ride. I love being abused and raped. I could faintly remember being crushed, squeezed by 3 ladyboys, and subjected to incredible slaps, spanks, insertions, and whips. Pain is really an aphrodisiac. I was choked by all kinds of things and passed in and out of consciousness so many times I couldn't tell if I was dreaming or not. It was a dream cum true over and over again. Now Stringfellows is gone. So sad. Why did they close? Can't believe they couldn't make rent. Wildest bar in the world. Did the cops close it because it was shameful to Thai sensibilities? Government for Good Behavior interfere? Can one of you bar owners restart this place? Last year I noticed the Stringfellows sign is still up even though it closed back in 2013. Also Pattaya Obsessions space is still empty. Loved that bar. Lots of dark places to hide and sin.

Last year I mentioned a saw a group of casually well-dressed Japanese men in Katoey-R-Us. Those guys have lots of money and are willing to give them up for some conversation, playful petting, and serious fucking. The ladyboys suddenly jumped up and politely surrounded them gentlemen waiting for them to be seated. The ladyboys were very proper and patient not to fight among themselves and sat next to the their guests. Drinks were served and no one was denied more when their glasses were drained. I have to say I am impressed with the generosity of Japanese sex tourists. Bar owners should find ways to get the Japanese men into their bars. They are made of money.

Back in the Philippines in 1978 in the middle of my college studies I witnessed a surprising thing. One of my Filipino girlfriends brought me to a warehouse where she said she worked. Always wanting to be curious about how everything works in foreign countries, especially in a third world country, I tagged along. She wouldn't tell me what was going on and suggested I just be patient and watch. Suddenly all the guys and girls scattered around with 50 girls jumping onto a set of wooden stair seats like they have a basketball courts. The doors opened and 50 newly arrived Japanese male tourists walked in and stood in front of the smiling well-dressed ladies. Nothing had to be said because they all knew what they were there for. Rapidly each men walked over to the girl of their choice, held their hands, and walked out the same door they came in. Everybody was chosen and nobody was denied. I was amazed. This was a real honest-to-God SEX JUNKET. Maybe you bar owners should start the same thing in your bars. I think it is legal there because I did read some advertisement about such a ladyboy junket in Krabi. If this business enterprise works successfully with the Japanese, it could encourage you to try it with Americans, each European nation, and Canada. Not everybody is like us being courageous enough to fly here and hunt for ladyboys ourselves. Too scared or shy. Never traveled solo before. Too scared to get ripped off and don't know how to fight. These guys need a tour guide to help out.

If you guys like more suggestions how to prepare to run a really good sex junket, just ask. Got a few more good ideas.

                            George.

                            Lots of good suggestions.

LBWVB event was a focal point for sure where as the various Team parties leading up to the main attraction were a way to reward participants.

The actual Volley Ball was terrific fun while raising significant sums for Charity.

I am sure more tickets could have been sold but attendance was limited by the space available. 250 Day Time and about 230 evening.

Other Hotels both in Pattaya and Bangkok were reviewed and Areca was the only suitable candidate.
Pool side real estate is at a premium?

There were 7 Points of Sale - 5 participating bars selling 50% (10% each)
Hideaway. Areca and Direct making the other 50%.

I had always hoped it could become International with Country heats in Thailand, Japan, Brazil, Philippines, Lao etc with a big final initially in Thailand

Finding organizers in each country and getting Hotels and Air Travel sponsored, funded would have been a nightmare.

Hats off the the organizers of the replacement this year but feel that there is no major attraction.

Where else in the world could you see 60+ LBs in Bikinis having fun with 200 International guests?

It was one of a kind

Thailand is unique in that they have all the ladyboy bars with some natural competitive amongst them.
Brazil has a lot of ladyboys but they don't really have many bars of such, although it isn't hard to organize and event there and get many together.
So there isn't a natural teams like in Thailand. However Brazil allows Thais to travel there without official visas so that is good choice, it is hard to get most of them into North America. Although i don't think the ladyboys have to travel all around the world necessarily. Just use the ones that are already there.
In North America there is like one tranny bar in major cities and that is about it, other than LA and NYC.

However the advantage of North and South America is you could have adult sponsors publicly which in the end would probably net more for charity.
The volleyball was probably better when the teams identified by the bars rather than team names for many reasons.

Possibly it is something that can't be every year in Thailand, maybe it could pop up elsewhere.
It doesn't have to be on a set date and maybe is a concept that could manifest itself at events where there is already a gathering of transgenders.
The TG Erotica awards are in LA in February and this could be a good one for getting many porn stars to participate.
Toronto Gay pride is one of the biggest in the world and they have a trans parade, plus Toronto has a massive number of ladyboys, probably a prime opportunity.
It is held in June so it is plenty warm.

It could be franchised in a way perhaps saving any organizing time letting others take the concept and run with it.
Maybe they can bring Rossco in as the Grand Marshall.

A little bit larger venue might be nice but i know there is no bigger pools at many full service hotels in Pattaya.
Most of the big pools are in the condos. There is the Marriott and Hard Rock but those are very expensive and more family oriented.
The advantage of a bigger venue is being able to get more and different participants. The current size sold out easily but was generally the same people year through year.
Probably because the same base of people sold out the thing, which is fine but didn't leave so much room for newcomers.
Not saying that anyone was ever turned away that i know of, there always seem to be some extra tickets out there.

Selling out every year is good for the charity but if people hear there is no more tickets then they move on.
Not selling out might provide a bigger more profitable event but hard to find the right place to hold it.
In some ways the bars aren't really gaining many new customers, as most of the crowd is already a customer.
So finding a more diverse crowd might be more effective marketing for the bars.

Over the years I have convinced 5 or so new people to come from Canada and i have talked another few people i have met in Thailand to come.
But it was never as easy as I would think to convince people to come out for a great event like this. Possibly if they saw the event in the home country, they might be more apt to travel to Thailand. One problem, I think, is ladyboy lovers in other countries don't understand the openness and acceptance in Thailand. So many don't feel comfortable going to to such events because they may be labelled gay or something. This doesn't happen much anymore but there is still the stigma.
Thailand is very accepting and less judgmental to your face of anywhere. Many judge but not in public.
This is the kind of spirit that Thai ideals could bring to the event if it was held in other countries.
                              Less stigma and more acceptance.

                                2020 Speculation

Someone asked this question on Dec 1 on another forum:

Q: Does anyone have Dates for next years charity event week? I know its early but i like to planmy trips in advance.

Aprilbr (2019 co-organizer of Party Week) responded:

There will be certainly something happening in 2020 around mid-November (perhaps even a return of the LBWVB?) but no dates in concrete yet. It was a very successful week this year [2019] so there is definitely strong demand for such a week of events. If you are looking at booking flights in advance my guess at this stage is 13-22 Nov but that is subject to negotiation with bar owner's early in the new year.
