  • LImit on trips to Thailand?

Is there a limit on the number of times anybody can visit Thailand in a period of time? Curiously can one visit Thailand every month without getting pestered with a suspect for something or anything?

Your good behavior as Farangs is appreciated in a sensitive Thailand. Note: Buddha tattoos are NOT appreciated here. It's a big NO-NO.

Oh, a tip. October 15 to December 15 is NOT 60 days. It is 61 days. Enough to trigger a visa violation warning and some stink Thai official's behavior. I just stare them straight into their eyes without fear. They do not scare me. They just want to make you lose face, and that just makes me laugh more at them.

I think there is an effort to restrict Visa runs and such. It's all on the Thai Embassy site...http://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand/new-visa-rules.php

This site is most helpful. I like that "
A dose of good news awaits tourists€”following the new regulation set by Thai Immigration, visitors can now come regularly to Thailand without limiting their stay within a total of 90 days in a six-month period."

Just need to visit your consulate and buy a tourist stamp. Last year they demanded a copy of my bank's recent savings and checking statement. Charged me US40.00 for a 2-month visa. It's $6000 for 3-months. I don't know how much for 4 months or longer.. Will have to call and ask. This must make a lot of young tourists happy to know they can stay longer than 90 days. Whoppppeeee!

Sounds like there should be no problems to worry about if I want to visit Songkran and still visit for my regular winter vacation. I remember I met a Copenhagen late middle aged blond couple who told me they come every winter to beat the icy cold winters. They stay 4 months each time. Happy people. Come to think of it, a lot of mainland folks and Canadian sunbirds flock to Waikiki just for the pleasure of sitting on the beaches and enjoying the warm sun and getting bronze tans. Many own time shares, condos, or rent vacation homes. Big business here. Too bad no ladyboys here. Prostitution is very illegal here in Hawaii, but no seems to get arrested because they have civil rights. Hahaha.
