Miss Tiffany beauty pageant is the most prestigous one in all of Thailand and is shown on TV over here and has 50-60 of the most beautiful ladyboys in the whole country on one stage at one time, competing for the top prize of 100,000 baht, a new car, and a trip to Los Angeles for a week [visa included] to compete for the title of Miss World Transexual. 2 out of the last 3 years, the winners were from Thailand; any great surprise there? The winner also gets lots of recognition, lots of other great prizes, and is basically set for life if they invest right and use their newfound fame to launch themselves into super-stardom and out of any bar scene and life of prostitution.
The last few days i have been hanging with one of the cutest and nicest girls on this website, the adorable Chompoo from Issan, now living in Bangkok. She has been recovering from some recent minor surgery and I have had a helluva time with some type of stomach virus [thai food does it to me every time] so we decided to hang out and be sick together LOL. Last night one of my good friends came over; he is from the states but has a place here in BKK as well, and is a good guy and likes ladyboys a lot, but mostly as friends; as a matter of fact, I indirectly met Chompoo through him 16 months ago and we have been friendly ever since.
He has been planning to sponsor Chompoo for the Miss Tiffany pageant and what a great idea; who better do we know that has an actual shot of winning this thing? So we all got together last night and discussed it, and how much she would need to be in this contest, and the ball is really rolling now. She was talking about colors for dresses, her sizes, how she will wear her hair, etc, and she is very excited about all this and rightfully so; she always does well in pageants back home and her Mama, her friends, and my friend and I all feel as though she really has a chance to compete here. So he will sponsor her because there is an entry fee and you have to pay for a gown and swimsuit and professional make-up, etc..... since most ladyboys don't have that kind of dough, she is thankful that she has a backer and she is taking this whole thing very seriously.
today she was up early and off to the fabric shops; then to the tailor and some other assorted chores. the dress takes 3 weeks to make and the pageant is on April 10, and i am sure between now and then she won't eat a thing LOL. we are really backing her on this and want to see her win this thing, me for the main reason that I would love to meet up with her when she goes to LA for the Miss World pageant and show her around. Imagine if our little friend became the number 1 TS in the whole world? don't bet against it.
great girl......I really wish her the best on this whole deal.
