Lookit all those old B&W picts from the 60's. Wonder if they had a college there as I graduated from high school around that time. Just about right for the Vietnam War. Seems those white guys must have been from the USAF from Utapao air base. Thailand agreed to let them use the base they probably built, but forbade them from returning with any undropped ordinance. So this is why you see lots of bomb craters in Cambodia just before the Thai border. Interesting. Wish I had joined the USAF to avoid the draft. Instead I went to school in the Philippines where they had Clark Air Base and Subic Bay. From the air base B52 bombers would take a short hop over the pond and be back in time to fertilize the needy ladies awaiting them. I hAd to laugh that the first case of gonorrhea-resistant penicillin originated from Clark. Hopefully we will go to war with China, and the next generation of Daddy Warbucks boys will relive the days of glory past.

The US Air force base in Utapao was the start of the whole scene in Pattaya.
My understanding is the USA built the base and handed it over to Thailand after a time for their cooperation.
One time we went down near the base to go to some beaches near there.
We were stopped at a check point with half a dozen Thai soldiers.
They were all wearing something that had the US flag on it, Jacket, bag, etc.
