(slurydog @ Jan. 23 2008,05:37) My friend i dont want to argue with you but may i suggest you use Google and read carefully.
i was going to let this slide as any detailed discussion of drugs might be mistaken for approval, but ladyboycrush was right on in his explanation (NOT approval) and you, sir, are greatly in error.
for you to suggest someone else read google is a bit mind-boggling.
now perhaps i have woken up on the wrong side of the bed on this rainy day and will later regret my bluntness, but rarely have i read a post as casual with the facts as yours and for you to have the audacity to challenge a post which actually adheres to the facts is, well, irritating.
i'd love to see the google page -- *any* google page -- which supports any of your thesis contrary to that of ladyboycrush (btw, i do not know either of you and have no bias in this other than my easy irritation at ignorant opinion being passed off as scientific fact.)
and with apologies to Tomcat (a longtime and reasonable poster ) the fact that uppers, once they have passed thru the system, then result in a down does not excuse slurydog from saying that therefore the upper is a downer. that's like saying caffeine will put you to sleep -- after you've been drinking it for 24 hours and pass out, maybe.
and "yaba" and "ice" and "crystal" are all names for variants of "speed" (as are "tina" and "crank", etc). they're not "similar to speed". they *are* speed. and speed is *not* a "depressant" -- unless you're discussing the use of ridalin in hyper-active children, in which case you should take your concerns off this forum because we do *not* deal with under-age persons here.
and statements like this one by slurydog:
i would consider were more towards Amphetamines are probably Ecstasy and Speed maybe Crystal Meths.
are so filled with errors of every sort that i wonder if he isn't abusing while he's writing. perhaps he's using the most dangerous of all drugs, and a true depressant -- alcohol. the one drug legal in the vast majority of the world, and killing more people than any other.
although it does seem that the misinformation behind and misuse of yaba in particular (yaba - a combination of methamphetamine and caffeine) may well allow it to surpass even john barleycorn in its destructive power in years to come.
perhaps rather than googling to 'search' out discussions on this topic and these drugs, the kind reader might choose instead to peruse wikipedia. simply key in each individual drug name and a rather thorough breakdown of history, usage, dangers and even chemical structure can easily be attained.
if the reader can not figure out how to use wikipedia, i suggest he lay off the booze for a day and try again tomorrow.
with the continual invention of pharmaceutical variations on amphetamines and methamphetamines for treatment of everything from narcolepsy to adhd, to tar all drugs with a single brush -- to even tar all 'speed' with a tiny little ignorant brush -- is simply non-productive.
it's not drugs which are the evil.
it's drug abuse.
the key word here is abuse.
stop abuse (of drugs, of people, of language, even of cute little puppies with no place to call home) and you may begin to improve the world.
rant over.
Sir on reading your reply i take on board your answer , in my original post i was refering to drug abuse. Not that i agree or disgree with people who choose to dabble , everyone to their own . You seem think that Wikipedea is what i mean about google it up on the conturary the answer is no . There are thousands of proffesional bodies who put up facts of long and short term effects of any kind of substance abuse most will tell you that most if not all have a negative effect on the body, mind or both depression being mentioned in most as well as paranoia and phsycosis. Yes i agree that some drugs are produced to enhance the lives of people with mental or physical problems but severe missuse of these lets say club drugs can only have a negative effect especially long term . Im sorry but i dont believe that making chemical imbalance of the brain doesnt have an effect possitive or negative.
Thaibound i've had an awful day and i seriously need some TLC

i'm sure there are BM's much closer than myself more than eager to kneel at your feet or brush your hair as you vent the frustrations of a day in the life.
i shall continue to look forward to having my own opportunity to do so some day.
though on behalf of many BM's here (myself included) i can not promise to limit my desire to that of consolation, nor my touch to one of brotherly love...
