Hi folks...

Great year for the message board which saw a lot of changes. Personel rotated and drifting in and out... New forums added to the mix... Same old subjects argued about...

In a while the forum will be totaly independent from websites... Not sure when this will happen... could be next month and it could be as long as a year away.

In the mean time here's your chance to help shape the look, feel and policy of the message board...

So if you feel we ought to do some thing more (or less) then now is the chance to have your say.

By the way - general whingers will be deleted - this is a thread to offer ideas, NOT just complain! So if there is something you don't like or absolutely hate then feel free to offer suggestions on how we can make improvements...

Similarly; if there's something that you do NOT want changed, moved or interfered with then say so right here!

Here are a few things that have cropped up in conversation over the last year that you may have a view on...

Too many forums/sections...

Boring layout... (colours/options etc)

Too many mods/over moderation...

Mods (and admins) bias against newbies or too argumentative...

Guidelines too harsh or not harsh enough...

Other forums do this... (fill in the box!) so, why don't we?


 The forum will bend (albeit slowly) to the demands of the contributors and NOT just to the whims of a few longtimers...

My wish is to keep this community as fresh and as interesting as it has been in the past...

how about an outside Thailand section for info about lbs in other countries?
info on bars, prices etc- as is this info is a little scattered .
maybe if there were sub-sections or stickies off this room for pi, brazil, holland, spain etc

You can search for this info already with relative ease-i just think it may be better to have a separate room.

I have always thought this......too many forums for sure, and 'Academia' should surely be renamed to "The Joke Room" or the "Who cares about any of this boring crap room?" if it must stay. Some of the others could be merged as well it seems.

But too many Mods?? No way, there are never enough of those; it keeps out the whiners, the spammers, the trouble-makers and anyone else who would want to bring your forum down. I think if people knew just how LITTLE this forum was moderated and how few posts were deleted they would be amazed, I know I am!

...how about a search function that is easier to navigate or maybe I should say, did a better job of locating what a person was looking for. Maybe all that is needed a user's guide. It seems SB can get a long list of possible threads containing the needed info...where I can maybe come up with a list with only 1 or 2 threads....or just the opposite, with a list 3 pages long........ The large number of "forums' really doesn't bother me as I ignore the ones I have no interest in once I understand the true subject it is dealing with........

A solution to the search function has been looked into but has proved to be problematic to install and maintain...

A section for ouside Thailand would probably not be well supported as there are other websites that do a better job of focusing on these areas.

We could have subsections for all sports, but then the Americans would get upset as they don't play cricket, rugby or soccer (well!)

I am afraid we are all guilty of this and i think the new members forum is a good idea. However, the next one who asks daft questions.....

A forum on post-ops would, of course, be a nice addition.

The benefit is that certain members would not feel cut off, while keeping those forums dedicated to scrotums and poopchutes vagina-free!

I find the process for posting pics and using quotes to be much too cumbersome. After seeing everyones high tech gear, it seems the forum is stuck on old technology when it comes to these features. Can't these functions be simplified?

That's a good point. The picture posting features and use of 'tags' could be better. I'll do my best to see what can be done about both these things next year...

Stogie: The "shape" of the forums does not matter much to me as long as you are around to help with any technical problems. I am terrible with tech issues as you probably know since you are the 1st that I Email when I have a problem. You have always been great in your fast replies and I appreciate that.

As far as reducing the number of sections, I would like to see you keep the following sections seperate as individual sections: News & Views, Picture Post, Travel Info, Trip Reports, Pattaya and Guess Bar. I also like the idea of having a seperate section for LB's outside of Thailand. I pretty much ignore the rest of the sections.

How about when you are considering the changes to the video section if you come up with someway of wearing one of them headgears where we can be interactive with the LB's?

Not the way I look at it.

We don't need many more forums.

Travel information and Trip reports could be combined, so could Members Calendar.

Pattaya and Guess Bar could be combined.

Not sure if a new forum on posties would be good or not. If it existed, the picture forum would become 100% cock and bull.

Just more posties in general would be great. "Post-op All-stars", how's that for a forum? That would be the creme-de-la-creme of the sex world in a forum with everything but their boners.

If the forum isn't associated with any particular site, would it be okay to post pics from any site, in limited quantity, even with the logos still on them? If so, then I would suggest a "Pic-Off", or maybe two. One could be by pros (the sites or their photogs) and the other by amateurs or fans. The baton could be passed: one month it's Mirimark's 100 favorite LB pics, the next month it's POL's, the next month it's Smuttley's favorite Sheep, and so on. Sheep suck, but some people like it. They need not be from subscription sites, could be amateur photos or from other sources.

You can rest easy. We'll always have the layout and colors that are the easiest on the eyes. 'Cool' isn't our style. Substance is.

Yes it will be... but this won't be happening for a while...
