  • Want To MARRY your ladyboy?

And I do mean MARRY - not civil partnership.

I don't know how many of you are aware of this but there is a peice on UK legislation called the Gender Recognition Act 2004 that will enable a transgendered person to be legally recognised as a person of their adopted gender and have entitle them to all the legal protection and rights of someone of that gender.

Here are a couple of articles on the matter:-

    http://www.grp.gov.uk/

and how the police intend to deal with the legislation;-

            Jellybean

It is very interesting to hear this thing... I am trying to do my homework for the European part since I am looking for a legal window to get married and thus Legalize my GF in Europe. I am trying now to get her a tourist visa first and in the 3 months time she will be here to do the paper work to get married. If not then it will be really difficult for me to do something.

            Thanks Mate, good info

One of my favourite LBs, Talisa, a filipina beauty, arrived in the UK about a year ago.

She had met this english guy on the internet, he went to the Phillipines, fell in love, proposed to her and then brought her to the UK on a fiancee visa.

They invited me to their wedding, a civilian partnership, which took place in Ealing town hall over the summer.

When Talisa has been in the UK long enough she will be entitled to a UK passport.

At that stage there is an assessment process that she can go through (which is sympatethic) that will allow her to be recognised as a female and receive a female UK passport.

At that stage she can have the civilain partnership dissolved and replaced by a full wedding, legal husband and wide partnership. ( if they want to)

One of my other LB friends in the UK came from Malaysia and has gone through the whole process and now lives officially as a woman and has all the paperwork.

BTW SRS is not a prequisite to be recognised as a female.

If anyone has any serious questions because they are close to going down that road, I will try to help with some answers.

According to my ex, she says there might be a law change concerning post-op's to finally be known as a "miss" on their passport's

What are the financial implications of a civil union breakup? Divorce?

In the USA about 50% of marriages end up in divorce, so although not romantic it seems this should be a part of these decisions.

I am also very 'friendly' with a Pre-op Filipino TS who is legally married to an English National and both are living and working in England.

I can't wait until she pays me another visit next week at my home. Now that is what I call 'home delivery'.

Very naughty lady, already committing adultry. Yippee

P.S. - I was in the British Embassy in Bangkok last week. The impression I was given is that if you can get a Thai National to the UK legally, prove that you can financially support that person for the stay of there visit, then I would presume you could then apply for a Marriage licence once in the UK.

I know of Filipinos who have done this, and after all, The Ladyboys of Bangkok regularly tour the UK. I believe it could be possible to marry a ladyboy in the UK legally, but I could be wrong!

There are two seperate issues here.

Firstly, under UK Civil Partnership legislation it is possible to 'marry' a ladyboy. The law does not differentiate between UK and foreign nationals.

My understanding is that following the ceremony the ladyboy would have to return to her country of origin and apply for an Indefinite Leave to Remain Spouse Visa in the same way as a gg. Once this is granted she would have to stay in the UK for 3 years before applying for UK citizenship (could she survive the winters).

Going through a civil partnership does not give her an automatic right to live in the UK.

Secondly, the Gender Recognition Act 2004 applies to UK citzens and pre/post op TS from designated countries where there a reciprical agreement. Any lb legally resident in the UK who has lived as a female for 12 months can apply for a change of gender subject to medical approval.

The designated countries are mainly in the European Union and the Commonwealth countries plus the USA.

Thailand is not on the list probably because the Thai government does not legally recognise a change of gender and also due to a lack of historical connection with the UK. I would be surprised if the Phillipines is on the list. Malaysia is on the list because it was a former UK colony.

I suspect that the lb's mentioned in previous posts have simply gone through a civil partnership ceremony.
