Massages are a hit or miss almost anywhere. Bit surprised this Tan lb wasn't up to a reasonable standard being in Thailand, the land of massages

I wasn't suggesting that Tan didn't know how to give a good massage - I was merely saying that she didn't give one to me. If I want sex with a beautiful LB I go to a go-go bar and pick one up, but I don't expect her to be a good masseuse. If I want a massage, I go to a massage parlour, and I don't necessarily expect the masseuse to be a stunner. The object of the exercise is to get a massage not a fuck. Now don't get me wrong - a really good massage can be very erotic, but my experience with Tan was not.

Read my post on Apsara Spa which is opposite the Raja Hotel on Soi 4 (if I knew how to create a link I would do, but I don't, sorry). Now that WAS erotic. On the subject of cost, Saved, the basic price was 300 bahts. I was attended to by No, who offered me a happy ending, which I declined. Not knowing any better, I gave her a tip of 1000 bahts.

The following day, I went again. As on the first occasion, I went with Ae from the Guess Bar, and, of course, paid for her massage too. No told me that I should tip Ae's masseuse. I asked how much, and she said 100 bahts would be fine. What??!! I'd obviously tipped way too much the previous day. In the event, I tipped her 200. Again, No offered her additional services, and I asked how much. She said 3000 bahts. I said this was far too much and offered 2000, to which she readily agreed.

From my personal experience, and given what I was looking for from the massage, No in Apsara is a better deal than Tan in Ruay Jung. If, on the other hand, you want less relaxation and more titillation, then I guess that Tan is the masseuse for you.

Since I am in the mood for being helpful, let me give you a few more tips about the two massage joints. I have been to several in the Sukhumvit area over the last 3 years, and those such as Oranges, Orient, Kornwan, TeenLove, all have private rooms with ensuite showers or baths. Ruay Jung and Apsara are different.

In both the "rooms" are all in the same big room, and are curtained off, a bit like an NHS ward in the UK. Consequently, privacy is restricted, and noise levels have to be kept low. As it happened, I was lucky at Ruay Jung as I was the only customer at that time; not so in Apsara, where No kept putting her hand over my mouth.

The washing facilities are also inferior. At Ruay Jung, the bathroom was on an upper floor, so I had to walk up some slippery wooden stairs with a small towel round my waist, clutching my phone and wallet. The stair are quite steep, and the return journey with wet feet was, shall we say, tricky.

But at least it has washing facilities. At Apsara I was offered no such luxury. Now as it happened, this didn't matter as I had a Thai massage and there was no oil involved. I do not know if a shower would have materialised had I had an oil massage.
