Does 'absorb' = the virus is transferred into you? What does absorb really mean in the case of HIV?

Crossing the membrane barrier into the blood. If the virus is to large it cannot get thru and into the blood.
This is also found with other things as well vitamins, medicines, and bacteria.

checked w/ my physician friend (infect dis specialist) biggest risk in giving oral other than hiv is hep b / most people dont know they have it but it can change your life if u get it ,,,,good luck everyone

only 5% that get hep b get it chronical. for the rest it's just another passenger virus.

Not sure I understand what you're trying to say OK. Everybody who contracts it is a carrier, meaning he's got it for the rest of his life and passes it on, regardless of whether it's chronic or acute.
I was replying directly to 'wolf252'. Believe me, you definitely know it when you get it. Hep A is different, could be a big thing, could be just a small outbreak of jaundice.

I just had a blood test. I have Heb B antibodies. Never had the vaccine and never got sick. Doc says I can't get it now and am not infectious.

*EVERY* reader here (barring some rare allergy to the shots) should be vaccinated against hep A & B. it's a no brainer.

That's true...everyone should get the vaccine. I got lucky. When you get it, you can be asymptomatic but contagious nonetheless. In most cases your immune system overcomes the virus. A small percentage of people who get Hep B continue to carry it in their bloodstream. It will eventually lead to big health problems for them AND they will give it to others if they don't take precautions.

When I go to bukakkae parties, they always say to keep your eyes closed as membranes in the eye area are much more sensitive and even a ph change can make problems......Ever try and keep your eyes closed inthe shower so soap does not get inthem.as soap inevitably usually does find its way in the eyes somehow.same way with a load on the face, it burns when its inthe eyes and hard to keep it out during a party............so all I can do is keep my fingers crossed and keep wiping them out...........
