She should change her name to Pooying Yippon. Looks about as Japanese as they come. Completely fits into the Thai ideal of white skin, far east beauty. Funny that a country where 90% of the people are brown have such an obssession with looks that are essentially Not Thai. Not even Chaing Mai girls look this Japanese/Chinese.

..and the dancers in the background, were those LB's too?  and I was surprised to see so many families with kids at this event; i thought LB's were looked down upon in their society??  

..and the other contestants, they all have a Thai 'generic' look to them, same faces & hair styles.. Areeya would knock 'em all on their asses!

topkicky2k, Nong Poy is performing at some sort of event - this is not a contest. I am pretty sure her dancers are ggs, not lbs and probably selected to contrast how beautiful Nong Poy is. You noticed it right away, so the strategy was effective.

It is difficult to explain exactly how lbs fit in Thai society - because it is also related to their family (rich, important, high standing), their educational background and their job. Nong Poy is NOT a bar girl and not involved in the play for pay (p4p) scene as far as we know. She is on a Thai soap opera and has done photo ads for various products as well as tv ads. I think she has great acceptance than many other lbs. Of course she is beautiful too, and that helps.

Areeya is beautiful yes, but I think Nong Poy is more "passable".
