What is the best time to sit in the bars at Nana and watch the girls arriving for work ?

Between about 5 and 7 most girls will arrive to come to work. So pull up a stool at big dogs or lucky lukes and watch the show.

Lucky Lukes allows you to 'capture' one who might take your fancy, as u can see her walking for a while. Big Dogs, by the time u see her, she's passed on into the mist!

Also recommended is the depature from Nana, when they are more desperate! About 1:15 AM. Big Dogs is the only bar u can watch from at that point.

I'd go up to 8PM for the first show. Many of the girls start at 8 and many are also willing to pay the fine and start even later! If you are an expert you can even spot the ones who have already been barfined and are going in to work AGAIN before 9PM!

Watching the sun go down on the girls whilst supping iced Chang at The Dog is greatness... Everyone should do this a couple of times. It's surreal. It's also one of the few places you can get a really usefully oversized Zippo lighter.

Lucky Lukes probably does have a better view point but it doesn't have the 'Dog Buzz!'

Best night (for me) is on Mondays because the horrible distracting markets are (mostly) closed down that day and the sidewalks once again become the domain of pedestrians!

And as The Zone Man says... from 1 till 2 in the morning is also great...

On my first visit to BKK (now a total expert with two visits under my belt) I sat in a bar I assume now to have been Lucky Lukes for two hours (5-7) watching the girls go by. It was great - only problem was I had read the site info and was trying to be sit (and actually I thought I was until I wandered down to Nana later) in Big Dogs.

Message is two-fold - when horny, I can be a stupid c**t; and Lucky Lukes provides an adequate viewing platform for checking out the girls (plus decent music).

They're right Lucky Lukes has the better view...which is both good and bad if the girls know you...
and while it may not have the Dog Buzz it has Cook...
and 4:00 is a good time to start the watch...the bars in NEP open at 7:00 but some of the
superstars wander in later...

The really nice thing about it is you get to see the girls in their street clothes and (most of them at any rate) without makeup...
You'll have an idea what they will look like in the morning...

Sage advice from an old pro Kahuna! I personally prefer the atmosphere of Big Dogs. Maybe things have changed, but when I was there, I found it quite fun to chat up the girls there. They seemed to be more friendly and playful than the girls in Lucky Luke's. I met a few nice ones, as Ozzie can probably attest to, in BDs. If you sit at the corner closest to the interior of NEP, you can actually watch the girls on their little march to the bars. I think it gives you more than sufficient time to scope them out and give them a little holler their way as they stroll past.

I much prefer lucky lukes , as the ladyboys will come over and chat as they walk in. not so at big doggs as you are a bit higher up and its difficult to chat.Lucky lukes had john smiths on tap last time i was there mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

You might just about miss the horrible gust of black smoke that blows up from the burger Stall every now and then, leaving your nostrils with the tinge of burnt onion.....

I seem to be in the minority but I prefer the bar directly ahead of you as you walk into Nana - I think its called Pharaohs or something like that. I much prefer being able to eyeball the girls as they walk through the alley and then watch them make merit at the Spirit house before heading off to their respective bar. I also think the GG's in Pharaohs are much better looking than certainly those in Big Dogs.

You are right Mardhi it is Pharaoh's, but I prefer Big Dogs, I just don't think you can beat the atmosphere there and I like the fact that it is higher up than Lucky Luke's = better view of the comings and goings

I must be blind as I've never seen this burger stand. Relpax and Snick have sent me pictures of said-burger stand, but me of all people, you'd think I would have seen it. Nope, been to Thailand three times and have never enjoyed the Nana burger (although I've had more than my share of bananas and hot dogs).
