The third category is designed to embrace transsexuals, Thailand's high-profile community of mostly androgynous citizens called, in Thai, katoeys.

billy69, thanks for posting that article - a few inaccuracies about the Simon Cabaret in Pattaya - that closed a few years ago, so they must mean the one in Phuket.

Will be interesting to see if this really comes through. I hope it does, so lbs will have some legal recognition, and hopefully have marriages recognized legally as well.

Not sure how this will all turn out though - if the constitution gets rejected this could all be delayed. I hope it all works out.

It is unfortunate the article refers to lbs as him/her, but I guess it could have been worse!
