Prostitutes in Miss TIFFANYS - before and/or After

I am getting the feeling this is becoming a tempest in a teacup!
As mentioned earlier, the Miss Tiffany contest does screen the applicants for acceptable jobs and/or proof of study. This does eliminate a number of lbs who do not have the proper official documents supporting their claims.
It seems some of the posters in this thread would like the contests to have a private detective to screen all the applicants so that anyone with a history of having worked in a bar or as an escort is prevented from competing.
This may be possible, but then who will pay for such a thing? Or maybe all the applicants can pay money to the boys in brown for a police clearance letter attesting that they have no criminal record, never worked in a bar or done escort work?
Certainly the contest organizers want to have upstanding representatives as their winners - and seeing as how there is a "handpicked or locked" Miss Tiffany winner for the past few years - it is likely that this contestant has had her background checked quite closely.
My personal feelings were expressed earlier, but remember a few things others have brought up - the Miss Tiffany contest is NOT broadcast live internationally, but is covered by international news groups. Short clips of the contest are shown by some of these news groups and they typically focus on the winner and finalists.
Anyone who views these clips sees lovely lbs and likely do not care a whit if they are "go-go dancers" or pre-med students.

Well, let me clarify this... as it is a private contest, the company is certainly able to pick only girls with one eye if that's what they are into.
I was answering only from my point of view.
And I can assure you no person I know has ever heard of the Miss Tiffany contest.

RR.Pedants rule, OK. Or more precisely, exhibit certain of the conventional trappings of leadership.

The QUESTION now is: Should Tiffanys allow GOGO girls to take place in the competition?
It is a beauty contest and that should be the single, pure measurement.
I am 100% morally OK with prostitution.
Unbelievable how you move from extreme left to extreme right. I hate foreigners and religion, but oh god, don't let a hooker in a Ladyboy pageant.
1 - No it isn't. You don't know anything about the competition so your opinion is moot.
2 - So what - Thailand isn't 100% comfortable with prostitution and neither are the organizers of the Miss Tiffany competition. Having known prostitutes in this pageant would seriously diminish it's credibility as a competition and it's impact on Transsexuals in Thailand.
3 - Well - again you live on another planet and your rare trips to Earth are permeated by what you would do if you were King! Your quote suggests that I am morally against prostitutes being encouraged to enter this competition... I'm not.
But for the practical ambitions of the organizers it makes no sense to encourage GOGO girls to take place in the competition. (Remember the original question?)
Like someone else alluded to - hooking is a job. There are many levels of it and we all prostitute ourselves in one way or another. But whether you like it or not being a known P4P player carries with it a social stigma and would reduce the credibility of the Miss Tiffany competition to a joke.
I'm all in favor of a ladyboy beauty competition which is open to all and doesn't include any of the stupid personality tests that most of these pageants do. I'm all in favor of beauty for the sake of beauty... but Miss Tiffany's is not and has embraced (albeit in a convoluted Thai way) a set of standards which it makes a reasonable effort to uphold.

Amazing Answer and TRUE...
Another thing I would like to mention is: How can you have a Beauty Contest without having Swimsuit part within the contest??? All beauty contest include Bikinis so that we, the viewers, can actually tell whether or not the pageants have good body. Tiffany's decisions I think are biased one way or the other

it seems to me that you have not closely followed the history of LB beauty contests in Thailand. The Miss Tiffany Contest has never had a swimsuit section since it was first established 10 years ago. The Miss Alcazar contest which has been going almost as long only introduced swimsuits a few years ago.
These two are the biggest lb contests in Thailand - there are numerous other lb pageants as well and precious few have a swimsuit section either.
There has been some speculation as to why this is the case, some of it may have been due to a modesty factor in the very early years - remember that traditional Thai culture frowns upon women showing too much skin - just think of the case of the young actress who was threatened to be suspended from university and barred from any further acting jobs because of the barely there dress she wore at an awards ceremony.
The other may well be that since not all lbs are surgically enhanced and the contest organizers don't want the non-surgically enhanced lbs to feel at a disadvantage for the competition.
From all the accounts and the photos it seems this year's winner has not had breast implants.
I get the feeling these comments are being brought up by a sponsor who's contestant did not make it into the finals.
Perhaps these concerns are valid, but certainly the organizers of Tiffany are screening the candidates and weed out many of the "go go" girls and certainly the "locked" candidate is thoroughly screened to ensure she is definitely not a Go Go girl. Let us also remember the rumour that the 2nd runner up works or has worked in Casanova has not been supported yet.

..Jay, you don't need to enter next year. You look great and don't need to prove it to anyone.......save your money and reinvest it in the business which will give you a far greater return. Too many politics involved in these pageants any way.... Aloha nui loa...............so, you're really a guy?..............

Stogie, I can't really disagree with you.
That's why I came back to clarify that I was really speaking about my philosophical position. As I said before. the contest belongs to someone, and it is their publicity / money making machine. They are certainly welcome to make the criteria whatever they want.
That makes for a very short and boring conversation though. And you yourself ventured off course, because you were obviously making P4P out to be a "bad" profession that puts you in a bad class of people etc.
that was really my starting point, I was just defending what I consider to be no morally less of a profession than any other. So admittedly that sort of does, and does not, bear on the conversation about Miss Tiffany's contest.

It's a good thread this... The thing with the Tiffany show is that it is making an effort to appeal to mainstream media and social politics. The girls (lbs) who are attracted to entering the competition do so to prove their worth as a human being and to show off talents that they have in addition to looking good.
This isn't a beauty competition and I think it's easy for us guys to forget that. How many times have I heard "Bloody hell, how did SHE make the top ten?" And these judgements are based purely on a physical attraction (or distraction) as we can't possibly know and understand what the girl is saying when it comes to promoting other aspects of herself.
I'm all in favour of beauty competitions where girls are judged on their physical appearance only. In fact I prefer them by far. Those lengthy pageants which take hours (and sometimes days) get me down. Just wheel them out and let's pick the one we'd most like to screw. makes sense to me! But I'm a guy who only sees ladyboys as objects of physical appeal and sexual gratification. I don't really want to know if they want world peace and rights for rice farmers.
I think we are commenting about Miss Tiffany's which is a contest that doesn't really have much appeal to most people here. Now - if we can get Franck to organise a ladyboy beauty competition...

But I guess you know yourself better than anyone.
