There are rewards other than monetary.

Simply participating in this forum by reading and responding to posts does not bring you any compensation, but hopefully you enjoy the discussion. Ultimately, someone else is making money off your contributions here.

Some choose to contribute more, by providing some organization here.

Sure, posting in a forum I can understand - you give something and get something back.

But moderating......you give something and the site owners get rich?? Huh?

I will say this for added features, one site that does it well is BodyBuilding.com

You have to consider though that the audience there is a little different. Everyon there is one a particular fitness quest, and looking for information and sharing. It's not exactly the same thing here, where opinions don't really matter much.

On BB.com it can be helful to see who has a longstanding good reputation. I once suggested that here, but after a long time, I've seen that it really would'nt have the same effect here.

Whatever meager complaints I have against the board, I can leave anytime I want. And you can't legislate the other ding-bats anyway
