Not saying it's a bad thing Dave, good for them is right on the mark.... it's just not as obvious in other countries and certainly not as prevelant as it is in Thailand, where westerners stand a small chance of making just about anything happen.

hey, you old-timers may be chuckling because I stated the obvious but it still makes me laugh to this day to see falangs who think they are pulling something [anything at all] over on the locals. It's just not the case, every single westerner in Thailand is getting played and in the end we all get burned whether we like it or even realize that it's happening. And this happens almost daily depending on your activities.

It's their country, they win and we lose.....hopefully along the way we can have some fun and never get burned too badly but all in all the playing field will never be level.

I'm sure it's not that awful. Thailand is fun, we keep coming back ... and it's good value....

Everybody plays games ... when the Thais play, you can play right back... try doing this in China, and you can really feel like you are on the losing end.

sorry my friend. this makes no sense. i have good investment income from a dtang prathet. i have
a renewable 1 year visa with a multable reentry stamp.
the cost $100. i bought a condo for $50,000 that
in san francisco would have cost $500,000 without
the swimming pool. my monthly fixed expenses, including california fitness membership is $150
i can dine 3 times a day for a total of $5. every
evening, or afternoon, i can; if that is my style;
have a lovely young companion. where in all of
this am i a poor put upon loser.

Hey welcome back Buttafly!!

I think it's a win-win though.   We get great vacations and you guys who live there get to live in a pretty cool country.

And the Thais win cause we pump money int the Thai economy.

Btw, I think sex tourists are BETTER for the Thai people than a falang on a business trip.  Business travelers spend money at the big hotels and fancy restaurants, while sex tourists money pays the Issan vet bills for the sick water buffalo!

Can't see how you can say we Westerners or Farangs are on the losing end of things. We are scoring babes at prices that we could never get at home. I think Thailand is high quality goods at bargain basement prices.

Oh, don't get me wrong guys..... Thailand is a great place and we get great value for the money and we have lots of fun there, great beaches and of course ladyboys and other things that we love about it.

  It's a cool place and fun or I would never spend time there after all

 all I am saying is that we are all targets, each and every one of us...... they are all playing us as fools and a very good amount of the time they are correct with that assumption, you know? Give me  some credit for at least admitting that I have been played and burnt before and if any of you have travelled there often you have as well, even if you didn't realize it or would prefer not to admit it.

Kempthorn provides the detail but surely the principle is simple. We fly to this country to pay bugger all to stay in top class hotels, fuck beautiful LB's and leave the joint without any attachments or responsibilities. These young people get their arseholes buggered, their dignity fucked, and their youth stolen.

I can justify my behaviour by telling myself they get money they wouldn't otherwise be able to make but I have just finished reading a thread on the percentage of these young girls messed up on drugs and I wonder how my money benefits them.

I am not going to stop using LB's and I can live with myself but please don't try and tell me they have us over; that we get the bum end of the deal. Cmon. We are adults who can choose what to do with their time and money, they are children (relatively) who do what they can to get cash.

Do you think they grow up dreaming of sucking the cocks of old, fat white guys?

If I am taken for a fool, I am mostly happy to do it. Fucking ecstatic actually.
