Do many LB's have a Thai Lover?

How do you equte a hooker having a normal life with a Thai boyfriend and then going and selling her body every night? Seems a strange situation to me - as I have already said, I really dont see many examples of working LB's having Thai boyfriends. To put into % terms, from what I know, I would say its less than 20%.

Well - here's what I think...

(I'm only talking about the 300 or so working in and around Nana Plaza on the P4P circuit.)

My own guess, experience and common sense tells me that almost none of these girls have a regular Thai boyfriend. I would say the percentage of those who have a steady Thai boyfriend is about the same or less than the percentage of ladyboys who have a steady Western boyfriend who lives with them here in the Kingdom.

Most (almost all) live in cheap rooms sharing with up to 6 others. A small percentage live in cheap rooms on their own and a smaller percentage live outside of Bangkok in the suburbs with their families.

If they say that they hate Thai guys and love Farang guys it may or may not be true. I suspect that most of them like to party with Thai guys and go on holidays with Westerners.

After being in the business for a while they will certainly start to hate Farangs and treat them as the fools that we are. the subtleties and the niceties are eroded by the ravages of the business and this is a big reason that the lifespan of a ladyboy on the game is no more than about four years.

About a third of the ladyboys in and around Nana smoke cigarettes and about a quarter of them drink regularly and I'd guess that about 1 in 10 is a serious drug abuser.

I'd say that most were on some kind of over the counter medication for feminine enhancing drugs like steroids, etc. The use of the drugs decreases a lot after the boob job as the desire to look feminine in clothes has now been satisfied.

A small percentage (which is getting dangerously bigger) have become operation junkies and this is now seemingly more important than mobile phones and family responsibilities. About 1 in 25 end up having the complete SRS surgery but, of course, they all think and talk about it.

The break down is as follows...

About 5% Have the operation
About 20% want it badly and will end up having it.
About 25% Want it but won't ever have the funds and/or courage to get it done.
About half have thought about it and won't ever seriously dream of going through with it.

Their lives are complicated and unpredictable... so do any of them have a regular Thai boyfriend?

I don't think that any of them do although it wouldn't surprise me if they had had serious relationships with Thais in the past before they got on the game and they dream about one in their uncertain futures...

 This is just my opinion, and isn't at all a scientific analysis of the scene, but I'd be surprised if I was off the mark by much.

I don't have numbers to back me up but I'm sure there'a a correlation between yabba use and smoking/drinking.

If a ladyboy neither smokes or drinks, I thnk it's unlikely she uses yabba.

Well, if they're truly single, then the answer is ZERO!

Look - you guys are reading way too much into this. Anyone - Thai, Farang, or alien - is going to want to have a relationship of some sort, as human beings we're hard-wired for that. What level relationship is anyone's guess, but its completely normal for people to want to have a boyfriend/girlfriend. To gawk and wonder in amazement if these bargirls have one on the side is moronic. While some may choose to avoid a relationship altogether, I'd venture to guess that many would want one given the chance if they are not already in one.

....WOW.....Not sure if you're from the USA, but sounds to me that you probably were a big proponent of the "Reefer Madness" movie. All of these reference to "correlations" scare me....... "most pot smokers drink coffee"..therefore I imagine that coffee leads to marihuana addiction. Ok OK it's a generation thing..........my parents feel the same way..............ALOHA

Smoking pot does not lead to smoking crack.  However, I would think that 99% of those who have tried crack have also smoked pot.  There is a statistical correlation.

Now most blind people masturbate.  But most non-blind people also masturbate.    

But 99% of the non-crackheads are not also
non-potsmokers.

very good point..... these young ladyboys are no different from us in the end or anyone else, they want to be with other people who like them or love them, etc..... especially "liked", they want acceptance more than anything of course.

Love may come also.... they certainly get their share of western dummies throwing their money at them and saying "I love you Honey" after 2 or 3 dates, while of course they are laughing all the way to the bank and while feeling nothing even remotely similar for the sap. This happens to ALL the cute ones, especially if they work in a bar.

Where I believe the seperation happens is when they want to choose a real mate......I have spoken to enough ladyboys to come to the conclusion that they would prefer to be with young, handsome Thai men over western white guys like us; they are with the western guys for other reasons of course, mainly money and security. But in their heart I believe they want to be with a Thai almost every time.
