That is not even a nice meal for 2 at a decent restaurant in Thailand. If you got a hotel for that price you would be in a cockroach infested, flee bitten dive that you would not even give a second look. Most of you use the price of living and average wages as a benchmark for what to pay. BULLSHIT give the girl what she deserves that is my friends is respect and decency.

OK forgot to add that this to me is the definition of exploitation and just because some girls go for it does not make it a reasonable fee for services rendered.

Ya, I am with Ozzie also....again.  Shit, these people are working for a living, the same people who 'try and get away with' 500 baht or as little as possible, would they even not leave a tip for a waitress in a western restaurant? Of course not....... you get good service, you tip them because that is how they live, not on the 2.25 per hour that the government says their minimum wage should be.

  well, these people live on what we pay them so why be cheap?  Ugggghhhhhh..... this board [from some, not all]  is starting to read like that old yahoo group I used to follow where the whole strategy of a good percentage of the people there was to pay as little as possible to the girls; while of course staying in nice hotels, eating good food, drinking large amounts of beer, etc...... and then holding back on the most important part and the whole reason they are there in the first place!

I agree with JD and Ozzie! It is ridiculous to think with inflation the st and lt rates should barely move compared to 10-15 years ago.

Just look at the increased prices of all goods - inflation is present in all countries, Thailand included! Granted the relative cost of living in Thailand is less than most western countries, but hey they face inflation as well.

If you want the company of some of the worlds most beautiful and sexy ladies, both preop and postop Thai lbs are certainly worth the cost. As for the concern of "price creep", you have a much bigger influence from the Japanese in terms of high prices than the average western punter. Also if you are planning to live in Thailand, it would be far better to save up enough money before moving there than to try and subsist on the standard farang salary, not based on an international ex-pat package.

Also as so many have pointed out, the "superstars" will go out at low rates IF you treat them right. and they feel the chemistry is good. I am sure that Donny, Billy69 et al, do not always just wham, bam, thank you mam, and toss their 500 - 1000 Baht ST, or they would not be able to get repeats with Nony, Rose, Mint, etc.

Debating about costs always creates tensions on the board and in the past there it has always ended on we have to agree to disagree.

For those who are complaining about price creep, where is the evidence of that higher rates (not accounting for the cost of inflation and higher costs of living) is severe?

Anyway, as is so often pointed out, if you do not want to pay the slightly higher prices, just seek out those new lbs, not the "superstars" and you will be happy enough. For those of us who feel they are worth paying a bit more, and not going excess like the Japanese do, we will be happy too.

I'm not convinced that prices are going up.  Though I have to admit that I really don't know since last trip I spent all my time with one girl.

In Feb '05 I visited Phuket the first time and asked a prominent barowner what I should pay since perhaps Phuket rates may be different than Bangkok or Pattaya.
He suggested 1000st/1500lt.

i wasn't going to Thailand is 1997 but I would imagine taht the typical farang didn't have too much resistance to paying a little more baht when they were actually paying less dollars after the baht crashed.

Hey Guys, Don't get me wrong, I never said don't pay them a fair price 500 or 600 bhat bar fine and maybe up to 600 to 1000 for a ST and 2000 to 3500 for a LT but I have seen some pretty high prices quoted on this and other threads. If I pay, for instance Noon 2000 for a short time and 5000 and up for a long time, I am making her a Super Star and every girl in the joint will want me to pay them the same. That is all I'm saying and I am not cheap charlie.

I personally have way too many associates over the years who work in the service industry to sit back and read this without making some sort of commentary. This includes people who have worked in everything from servers to prostitutes both GG and TG.

These individuals are people too trying to make a living and get by and some have families who count on their income for support. And as stated by Ozzie, KL and JD their living is predicated on what they receive as far as payments for their services and/or tips. So if being cheap and talking a Ladyboy into "doing" you for 500 baht doesn't cause you any concerns then that just shows what kind of true character you have.

I would rather tip 20-25% depending on the quality of service and pay a little over the going rate and give a tip to a provider if the occasion merits it. Quite frankly it makes me feel good to share my good fortune with others.

You are right there...But I have had some LBs and GGs who I send out not even paying them the 500bt...You know the type..Starfish.. Or try they best to make you come with just a BJ and go ..They'll be out of the door...If they are good to me Im good to them..Thets why I tell them , IF there good they'll get tips, and no fuck no money..NO bullshit like...You big big..jeb jed

My tip is between 1000-2000baht depending on quality of service. If we go out anywhere, food, club, taxi, drink, flts, ferrys, etc, i pick up the tab. A bit like taking a western women out really, except you get much better companionship, affection, sex etc, & invariably the LB's / TS are far better looking too.

In South America its pretty much the same deal.

In the west P4P is far more expensive, service varys enourmously & there is normally an attitude problem, connected to clock watching.

In my opinion Asia, LOS, Philippines, South America are far, far better value with far better looking LB's, TS, GG's who are also better at what they do.

However poor service should not be rewarded.

So ossie how do the average thai live? there salary are very low,500 baht for a meal? 1000 baht is a good price if you go bye local not your salary.If you eat out and you are a thai(not including the middle class and rich in bangkok) you eat at the food stalls in the road. look at silom rd in the evening as the offices churn out , packed with office girls and blokes eating at an aveage or 100 batt a couple most bar girls do the same they only eat in restaurants when we take em there

yes i know its a hard life and a cunt of a life flogging your ass, but for alot of thais thats what they do and if they are smart and save there money they could be out of the game in a few short years. unfortuatly most of them are not smart, and get involed in drugs and gabling etc
So 1000 is a good price and has nothing to do with feeling guilty or treating someone with respect.

You have totally missed my point.

30,000K bath per month may well be higher than the average wage but so what. This also assumes that the girl gets bar fined every night which is not the case for many of them.

I don't understand why a guy thinks a nice room say 60-75 AUD a night is worth paying for, a nice meal at a nice restaurant (not a street vendor) for 2 say 15-20 AUD with a drink or 2 is worth paying for but when it comes to as JD said the min reason most of us go is for the girls we treat them like they are not even worth as much as that nice massage had at the hotel.

In any case I have stated my opinion and I think it is clear now so I won't bother to continue to bore all of you with this. Suffice to say as I said before I will splash the cash and enjoy my trip. If I have to worry about whether or not I can afford that extra beer at the bar I would just stay at home.

I definitely think that appearances on the website can make the girls very arrogant, and I don't like arrogance in anyone, be it ladyboys, ggs, friends anyone.

For example, the other day a superstar came and sat with me univited just as I was leaving, then proceeded to tell me how much I wanted her blah blah nblah. The change arrived, 40 baht I gavce 20 to the bar and tenty to her and then she starts freaking out saying that she should get 100 baht just for speaking to me!!! I told her that was much more than my lawyer got and at least he was worth talking to! Then she gets all pissy and narcy so I told her to go fuck herself and walked out.

But I would never trade the website for less arrogant superstars. The fact is for each suoperstar on the website there are many more gorgeous ladyboys without the attitude and arrogance.

It's the same with the bars. They are crappy, expensive, prone to ripping off customers and not pleasurable to be in at all. However, they do have the ladyboys so that is the price you have to pay. I often think that a good ladyboy bar run properly without a grasping Mamasan and all the attitude could really clean up. I would be interested to see how Jay's new bar fares.
