No wonder it's not making money as it hasn't been released anywhere yet, not even in Iceland. I suppose all small independent films struggle to find distributors. The award might help raise some interest.

ya, the last I had heard these 2 had a major falling out over a] how much money was made and b] how much was spent to actually make the flick in the first place....answers, none [yet] and a lot [mostly in grants and aid].


  That was like a year ago, but they seem to have patched it up and Minnie also seems to have made a few passes at the BK drive-thru in Rekyavik!

It's always a huge mistake when ladyboys cut their hair short, unless they have a flawless face. She looks like a cross dresser instead of a ladyboy at the awards. Suprised her English is so limited, most Filipinos have a better command of English than her.

this looks like being possibly a groundbreaking film and you still have to ruin it with your "am i, aren't i gay for liking ts" bullshit.

i suggest you go to your mum and ask her why she never taught you the meaning of respect

This is great news! Congratulations to those involved!  

The director has actually been in touch with us from STRAP because we wrote to him about the title using the term ladyboy. He was very kind and generous enough to lend us a copy to critique on it before it got shown on cinemas. Maybe this would inspire him to make more movies about the different facets of life of transgirls!

The link I originally posted doesn't work but if you go to the teddyaward.tv website as you posted, scroll to the bottom you'll see the link for the winner of the best feature film (there is a picture of Olaf and Raquela accepting the award).

One thing I didn't notice before was that the winner also receives 3000 Euros prize money. I wonder who will get the money?

Haven't seen this movie, but I've seen another Filipino one: The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros. It's about a 12 year old femboy, who falls in love with a cop. It's pretty good and it won many international awards too.

I have seen this one too. Its another great film as well, I agree.  
The limited understanding of the major Filipino culture of the LGBT community (probably from the shockingly low literacy rate) is manifested in this heartwarming film. Most, and I do mean like maybe 99%, believe that gay guys (both the effeminate and macho types) are not very much different from the TGs and, well, femboys too, as this forum would label them. It can both be funny at times and frustrating as well. Its obvious that the normal human pattern to react to something they dont understand is just to box them as with the rest and steer clear from it. The spoils of being Third World, haha!    OK, Im rambling aimlessly
