all the fun is taking place near the government buildings around Ratchadamnoean Nok Road, just north of the Grand Palace. Last fews coups were similar so I wouldn't expect tanks running down Sukumvit

everything is still hazy, but this is what I've heard
Thaksin tried to declare martial law and sack head of army
he staged a coup with head of Navy and head of Police

they are in control now and will have new elections

Thaksin is still in NY, and will try and fly back to Thailand

I heard a rumor that the internet will be disconnected in 2 hours ( 2am Thai time )
