these 3 cities are probably the best 3 options; Samui and Phuket, it's probably not possible to get any work done there and I would feel too out of the loop, probably in CM also.

Bangkok is cool and I love the excitement and shit, but some posts I have been reading lately about the fact that the ladyboys in BKK are too business-oriented and lacking passion have really hit home and I am starting to agree with that sentiment. In BKK it's all about the money, from the prices of the rents and everything else to the prices for the girls and even the food and entertainment costs. it also sucks sitting in that horrendous traffic and you are basically held hostage in your apartment for 3 or 4 hours a day because traffic does not move between 3 and 7 PM. Not sure about the mornings because I generally sleep late but i hear it's the same.

On the other hand, i know i would miss the excitement; Bangkok is probably the most fun and exciting city in the world and is always throbbing [pun intended] with a noticable feeling of electricity. I would also miss the emporium, MBK center, Panthip Plaza [aka Heaven], Eden Club, Sukhimvit road, etc....etc...the list goes on and on.

    Indecision, indecision.....LOL

Its Pattaya for me. Much more pleasant & relaxed environment with sea breezes replacing the traffic fumes of Bkk.
The Ladyboy scene is not so good as in Bkk. There is one ladyboy GoGo, but I rate it very lowly compared with the delights of Bkk (casanova, Obsession etc). Although late at night you can always find quality on Walking St.

When I make my 3 week trips to Los, despite spending the majority of my time, I always tack on a couple of days in Bkk at the start, finish or even the middle of the trip.

Got to agree with both Jon and Dave,,its a nessacary evil, you feel your trip's not complete unless you taste the smell of fuel and throbbing noise.
Destinations; cant beat Phuket, and Pattaya runs a close 2nd..

I find Phuket not as friendly as it used to be and Patong beach is very over-developed.
The locals also get pissed off when they realise you are not a tourist and thus can speak their language and know the correct price of everything!
