Chiang Mai is kind of a dead zone for ladyboys, sadly. there are about 2 dozen that work at the Simon Cabaret, and that's about it. there is a crappy little cabaret down in the beer bar alley just inside the Thapea gate entrance, and Note and 2 or 3 other decent ones work in there. Also, around the Thapea gate there are always 10-15 ladyboys walking around selling their wares most nights after 11 or so; many are from the Simon and that is where i picked up Yoh the other night. Last night i strolled around there looking for a cheap lay and there was really nothing worth taking home so i came back to my room alone [very rare]. some of the street skanks looked pretty scary, and pretty young as well.
another thing about CM; very large language gap. Most people here do not speak any english unless they work in the hotel or restaurant industry.
Come to CM to see the culture and to see a nice city which is much cooler than the rest of Thailand. do not come there to hunt ladyboys solely; you are much better off in BKK [best] Phuket [2nd] Pattaya [3rd] or Samui [i hear this is 4th but haven't been there in years]. CM is cool but not much in the way of LB-hunting.
