unlike many Filipinos who earn and want more..I am at a stage where I appreciate what I have..parents, friends and many boys who admire me for what I am...I am quite happy living here in Cebu!

you know what guys? the way my life is going? with the work that I have and the fact that I get to meet so many people I can say that I am now in a very wonderful stage of my life...(aside from the occasional wish for that serious BF or that boob job or the fat implants to the hips
) I would say that I would never want to leave Cebu...perhaps there's the occasional longing to earn more, have my own house, and stuff..but case in point if everything remains stable..if I continue to have this job and my company never closes I think I would really love to settle here in Cebu....

Guest repliedYour right jon,,its a great country and has more than go-go's and massage parlours to offer,,one wonders if these places didn't exist, would we still go there.?
Indonesia has over 2000 Islands and the population of about 250 million and 9 out of 10 of them would give there right arm to relocate to the west,
But this is not so with the Balinese people,,,its very rare indeed to meet one off the Island..

They don't want to leave
Unlike many asian countries where the people can't wait to get the hell out of there, the people of Thailand are very happy staying right where they are. Case in point; besides the occassional Thai restaurant and the occasional Thai person you may run into, how many of them do you actually see in the states or the UK? Sure, you will see lots of asians but most are Chinese or Viet or from the Philippines. Thai people like their country and have no reason to emigrate just for the hell of it.
I have a good friend on the west coast who married a Thai lady last year; very beautiful girl. Nice also; we have met and she is a peach. Well, she has been living in the USA for 1 year now and and is really hating it; she loved her place so much better in BKK. People come here from Saigon or Manila and they are in heaven; they love the states and would never want to go back. People come from Thailand and they want to go back. When I have been going through all this immigration stuff for Aon lately to help her come visit, we got 2 types of Visa's. One was a tourist visa, and for the hell of it I entered her in the 'lottery' that the INS has in which they let in 50,000 people out of millions of applicants, and these people can actually get green cards and live and work here. while she was appreciative, she also told me that as much as she would like to see the USA, she really does not want to live anywhere but Thailand. and this is from a girl with almost zero family ties, never sees her brothers, and whose both parents are long dead. the only reason she has to stay in the best country on earth is because she actually likes it there and wants to stay.
Thailand is 3rd world to be sure; the poverty is horrible in some places and the standard of living is below many other countries in the world. But, they have a great and proud culture, a great Monarchy that the people love, great weather, beaches, mountains, and a modern standard of living as compared to their neighbors in Cambodia and Burma and Laos and 'Nam. We love to go visit there; there is no reason to believe that they should like it any less than we do.
These people are lucky and live in paradise; who can blame them for not wanting to leave.
Jon
