i really can't be bothered searching through too many forums. on other boards i generally stick to one or two areas and skip the rest meaning i miss lots of posts.
keep it simple!
if it isn't important enough to fit in one of the (too many) existing, it isn't worth posting imho.
the best message boards i've been on have been those with 2-4 forums, that way everyone gets involved and you simply don't read the posts which aren't of interest. too many forums promote spam and irrelevant bullshit.

I agree with Rayton.

I think too many subsections detract from the whole site.

I know of other sites that have all these sections and there are hardly any posts in them.

Why fix something thats not broke?

There is an old and tried expression that has proven over and over again to be true in business. "Keep it simple Stupid" K.I.S.S. that applys to this site. It has risen to the top by doing one thing better than anyone else. AsianTS has provided its members with the finest videos, the finest models and the best forum for over three years. It has continued to evolve by sticking to this simple formula. Jesus H. Christ it's all about Asian ladyboys and our love for them. A relationship forum??? Gee, let's include a lonely hearts section, a section for I'm so lame I could not get a Thai ladyboy with a 1000baht note, a section for lurkers to remain silent and let's finish up with a section of skank photos from around the globe. Give me a break please or just gag me with a spoon.

This message board has added forums VERY reluctantly over the years and we have had forums added then abandoned because they didn't work out.

Take the "Calendar" forum. I added it without much enthusiasm but it's now holding it's own and is a useful area for some people.

The Picture Post forum was added after I was tired of seeing great picture threads get lost on the main News & Views forum and this has turned into the biggest (most widely read) forum on the whole board.

Keep the ideas coming in... we always want to make our forum better! I'm not sure that adding new categories is a way to do this...

By the way - if you think there are too many sections at the moment then click on "New Posts" every time. That's what I do!

Thank you for your candid comments.

Whilst I don't agree with all, I do agree with most of what you say.

IMHO a Forum needs to keep itself fresh, vibrant and alive constantly growing and evolving so that interest is stimulated and maintained.

Oh, and I will keep the dumb ideas coming, you can bet your bottom dollar on that.

Most of my ideas will possibly be dumb but there just might be one or even several which may be fliers and will catch the members' imagination.

I think we have the right amount of divisions. "Academic" was only recently added, but there are MANY other forums that cover outside Asia, which is predominantly what this forum is about, **including** the Philipines. There are at least three recentish threads I can think of on Brazil/South America and it's already been agreed that there will be no "Warnings Forum". Spedius, if you look at some of the older postings on "Warnings" you will see the to & fro on some of these things & why. "Fishbox" was created for the "offtopic" topics & postings and Moddies are always moving things into the currently available slots. Sometimes it's hard to decide which side of a particular fence a post mostly falls into. For instance something starts off in news, gains a truckload of pictures and automagically it shuffles off into "Picture Post". Not sure we can be all things to all people if things go too far off on a tangent(s). Which should it go into, trip report is more a travel info, or other way round etc etc.

If it's not broke .... but suggestions always welcome. My two Satang.

What about a luvvies forum, where the sadly deluded can talk about walks in the park "with the GF" whom they see for a grand total of 4 weeks a year, puntuated by 6 month stretches of talking on MSN  about what they had for dinner and how its "hot again today in Thailand"
